Troy really hasn't proved anything in the NFL. Call it unfortunate, but it is what it is.What criteria are you judging this on? Is it his time at Ohio State? There isn't really much more other then that to go by.

I have access to a magic "what if" crystal ball. With Troy the Ravens win the Super Bowl this year.

In the same regard,it very well might have not lead to a controversy. Anytime a rookie starts there's going to be some type of stir following him around. How could leaders of a team have confidence in a rookie qb they haven't seen play in real time?Is it wrong to get as much experience for a rookie qb as possible? Do you think they are regretting playing him all season now? If you were to ask those same guys what they thought about Flacco right now, what would they say? It's hard to argue with the results.

Please, there isn't a single impressive thing that Flacco has done here.
14 TD 12 Int and 22nd rated QB ... I'd be saying Troy had a lot of room to improve if he had those numbers too.
Baltimore didn't get where they were by having the 28th pass offense and 24ppg... they got there off their D.

How many years have the ravens had a top notch defense and not went this far in the playoffs again?

Isn't that the same one you were using for the "greatest running back, since Sanders" thread?

Take George's line in 95...Beanie and his beard. A bottle of gatorade, and an old dirty sock, that's been in the locker room for years.

No, for that argument I was using my "common sense" crystal ball.

He ain't goin' to Disneyland.

Look, the kid did a very admirable job for being a supposedly raw, unpolished QB thrust into the starting role. It's unfortunate that Troy got sick because now we'll never know how far he would have led them, but I can't fault the ratbirds for playing the guy who is pegged to lead their franchise for the forseeable future. I just hope Troy gets another chance elsewhere, but I fear he may not. Time will tell.

I don't hate Flacco, but I do hate his stupid unibrow (or as I like to call it, "forehead beard").

There you have it. Flacco for Hall of Fame!

So today's performance had nothing to do with steelers constantly getting through to him. Pressuring him non stop to force throws. You really believe Smith would have made a difference with zero experience. I can remember seeing him against florida basically doing the same thing flacco was doing yesterday.

Last time they had a defense this good and Trent freakin' Dilfer they won it all!

Exactly. Flacco is a game manager, not a difference maker. When he needed to make something happen at the end, he proved that. The Ravens didn't ask Flacco to do much, just not be stupid.

Now he'll probably turn out to be a decent pro, but I think Troy would've done just as well this year and then some because he's got the ability to make things happen and create something out of nothing.

Now that is just completely irrational...look at the way Troy performed last year in his rookie season---he was lights out and obviously much better than Joe was.

Like I said before..It's not like the coaches hadn't played him just to keep a guy down. They don't play him because flacco is the guy for the job. If he is leaps and bounds above flacco he would have been playing yesterday. Obviously,he isn't. How many games did he start? 2? How can you honestly compare that?
