From the 11W article:

My dad played for Ohio State. He was a captain and I grew up a lifelong Buckeye fan. I grew up in the cold war era and I used to go to bed praying that if there was going to be a nuclear war to end the world, just let me go to Ohio State before it happened. I really -- that was all I cared about was playing for Ohio State.

Kirk Herbstreit says he's "sick to my stomach" about ending to Glenville-William T. Dwyer game - cleveland.com

Kirk Herbstreit told a Florida radio station Wednesday that the ending to Monday's Glenville-William T. Dwyer football game "made me sick to my stomach."
Herbstreit, a college football analyst for ESPN, is the namesake of the Kirk Herbstreit National Kickoff Classic, which was played Sunday and Monday at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.
Glenville won, 26-22, following a controversial ending after Dwyer, from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., appeared to have scored three times on its final drive -- once on a 25-yard pass play and two quarterback sneak attempts.
"It looked like they got in once, if not the first time, definitely the second time, and the officials don't give them a touchdown three different times and Dwyer ends up losing and my heart just sank," Herbstreit said on "The Joe Rose Show" on 560-WQAM.

T.O. takes aim at Herbstreit
Posted by Mike Florio on October 3, 2010

One of the more bizarre developments of Saturday came when ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit lamented on the air the performance of the Bengals offense, despite the presence of Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco. The decision of Herbstreit, a long-suffering Bengals fans, was a little unusual since his beat is college ball. The reaction from T.O. pushed the scenario into the world of Looney Tunes.

Owens took to Twitter, and he engaged in extended bashing of Herbstreit. T.O. also responded to tweets he received from several followers, claiming that the thin-skinned wideout isn't insecure and admitting once again that he indeed loves him some him.

aug06.cover1.jpg

Imagine the best day, week, month or year of your life. Now put it on steroids, add in a pure dose of chance and a pinch of magic. The resulting experience now only comes chin level with Kirk Herbstreit?s daily routine.

He?s married to a princess, with whom he shares the joys of raising their three sons, two of which are twins. He lives in a cushy home is Upper Arlington, the backyard to The Ohio State University, where he forged an impressive run as quarterback, a run that came to full fruition his senior year when he was nominated co-captain of the team and was voted MVP after passing for 1,904 yards that season and boasting four 200+ yard games. During the college football season, he sits alongside Chris Fowler and Lee Corso on the set of College GameDay, an ESPN go-to program that makes Saturday road trips to various colleges around the United States to preview upcoming football games, discussing the day's college football scores and analyzing highlights and players. Herbstreit is also a contributor to the AM radio station 1460 The Fan. When not on assignment for ESPN, Herbstreit is a co-host of the afternoon show called The Big Show. Oh, yeah, there?s one more thing. This cat?s makin? some serious cheddar.

An articulate, grounded and caring person, Herbstreit has rightfully earned the title of Columbus, Ohio?s Golden Boy. He?s approachable and humble, and he deserves every bit of fame and fortune that comes his way. For this, our ?Back to Campus? issue, we sat down with Herbstreit to discuss all things sports and OSU. As with everything else he touches, our interview turned to gold. What began as an interview quickly became a rich conversation overflowing with golden thoughts, ideas and reflections on the greatest game on earth?the game of life.

ESPN's Herbstreit speaks from head, heart

MEN OF THE WEEK, no contest, to ESPN college football analyst and former Ohio State captain Kirk Herbstreit, and his 10-year-old twin sons, Jake and Tye.

Looking at the sports world through his kids' eyes, Herbstreit, on Wednesday's "Mike & Mike" simulcast, addressed the concussions epidemic. He led with his head and his heart.

"We at ESPN," he said, "are as guilty as anyone."

And after TV, he continued, comes the annual John Madden, NFL-licensed, ESPN-embraced, everyone-take-their-cut video games that teach and preach football as a damn-the-consequences, full-speed-ahead exercise in trying to maim. And he mentioned the Madden game by name.

And Herbstreit sounded genuinely concerned and disturbed that this is what his kids' sense is football; that it has been pounded into them.

Hey, football has been remorselessly heading in this direction the last 30 years. In 1997, there was internal debate as to whether the NFL should use "Feel the Power!" as its marketing slogan. Those NFL execs opposed to it lost that debate.

Of course they did. Never forget to follow the money.

Some confusion over on twitter whether TPeezy2 is actually Terrelle Pryor. Just deleted a comment calling out Herbstreit for being a "fake Buckeye."

If its him, someone needs to take the phone away.

I've called Herbie a hell of a lot worse than that.

I'm pretty sure it's him as Posey told people it was but assuming it is he still tends to to overreact to the so called "haters" after a rough game but I won't begrudge him. he's young and just had an emotional win.
