QB Justin Zwick (B1G Champion, National Champion)

If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that Zwick would have as many rushing TD's as Troy Smith after 9 games, I would have thought something very wrong happened to Troy! Great to see Justin get into the endzone.

This thread needs to move in a different direction, so I guess I'll do it. Justin did look good in his TD drive yesterday, and seemed to be in pretty good command. Question. Knowing that Justin is one injury away from being our starter, do you feel confident in his ability to lead this team should the unthinkable happen? I'll vote "yes."

Against Illinois and Northwestern, no doubt. But to be brutally honest, I'd be scared shitless if we didn't have Troy Smith under center against Michigan.

Hell Milwood, I'm pretty much scared shitless even with Troy behind center against scUM. I think I need to beat it into my head once and for all that Cooper isn't here anymore, and that everything will be "okay."

I think Zwick would have enough to get us past scUM though. He does throw a good intermediate distance pass which I think will be the bread and butter in that one. The big question would be how he'd handle the pressure they're going to bring, and obviously you'd want the most mobile QB in the country in there in those circumstances.

There's where my concern lies, Dubs. If they didn't have that great DL, I think Justin to sit back and pick their secondary apart. Justin is actually pretty mobile, but he's obviously no Troy Smith in that regard.

Guys, I split the rest of the stuff...just didn't like the direction it was heading.

Its very difficult to judge the reactions of someone very few of us actually know well enough to make a solid inference.

Everyone is entitled to their own interpretation, but somehow this doesnt seem to be the place for it to be discussed.

Call it a soft spot for the kid, following our set precedent, or realize it is basic respect. Either way you go, just know I'm following my gut on this one.

If anyone has an issue with it, hit me up in PMs. Otherwise, let's get back to enjoying this amazing season.

Grazie.

Personally I could not give a rats ass if he could lead us to a NC. I was just happy as a puppy with two peters to see him drive tOSU down the field and execute a flawless drive for a TD. Couple of nice throws, it was a thing of beauty.

He is one of my favorite Buckeyes, and it has NOTHING to do with his ability to play football. The kid is a 100% class act that has done nothing but behave like I would want my son to in a difficult situation.

I bet that JZ is going to go a long way in life, and that is the important thing anyway.

If JZ would have to come into the scum game, I think the hardest thing to overcome would be if he came in and we happen to go 3 and out. You know you would start to hear all the boo birds. I couldn't imagine that kind of pressure...come off the bench in The Game against the #2 team in the country with a trip to the MNC on the line, after the heisman trophy frontrunner and the man people are claiming to be the greatest OSU qb of all time goes out. That being said...I have full confidence in JZ and the rest of the team that someone would step up and lead us to victory. Whoever that may be.

Great, great opportunity for Justin! I hope he has an awesome bunch of practices and Bowl Game, and puts forth all his best qualities for the coaches.
