I liked his long ball, he showed us his gun. It was nice to see his accuracy at 50 plus yards. That was better than TB IMO. He just needs more PT and experience. I really want to see more intermediate passes this year whoever is the QB. With as many good targets this year as this team has, we should see mismatches with our third and fourth receivers and Zoom. Keep the drive alive and mix it up with all the receivers.

Pryor will be a wild card, a bonus player, a threat when he has the ball making defenses scramble. It doesn't get any better than this.

Oh I agree. A great diemma to have right? In all my years watching OSU football, I've never seen depth at QB like this. I kinda feel bad though for whoever ends up the odd man out...they all have great ability, but there's only so much football to go around.

Good luck Joe!

exactly; he has escape ability coupled with downfield vision.

Personally, I wouldnt mind seeing him in some QB draw or option red-zone situations; even against SC. Maybe a package with him and Pryor - they'd never see that coming.

Typical Bucknuts....:roll1:

I wouldnt say that Bauserman earning a scholarship is blowing anything. I know we wanted him to be on the roster at the expense of the Pirates but the kid is going to play and I think he deserves anything he gets.

Joe is a fine QB and we need him badly right now! He deserves a schollie without doubt. He could be the starter next year. He could find himself starting this year with an injury to Boeckman!

totally agree, i don't think it's "blowing" a scholarship to give it to a guy who is one play away from being our starting QB. he's been in the system, he's earned his stripes, and i think he deserves it. a lot of the whining probably stems from people thinking that pryor could somehow step up and be the guy in the event that something happens to boeckman, which is ridiculous. even vince young needed some time in the system before he took over as the starter, and he didn't really mature as a passer until his last season.

bauserman will probably get a decent amount of playing time this year, hopefully early. anybody thinking pryor is going to come out and throw the ball even half as often as bauserman does this year has their head in the clouds (vbet?)

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Baus getting a scholie is basically a 2 to 1 deal (Schoenhoft and Henton). He's earned his spot, and if it came down to a decision, it's much better to have him on the roster than to lose him. Three scholies for QB is pretty much a given, actually a bargain, considering the upside. I would give up any prospect for Baus, at this point.

Conversations like that are why I visit BP and not the other site. I am very pleased to see Bauserman get a scholarship. He has worked for it and deserves it.

Congrats to Joe for getting a scholarship. It is well-deserved and people need to remember he was offered one years ago.
I'm not a player, but aren't there some advantages to being a scholarship player besides having school paid for? Such as training table with the team and other team advantages? It seems to me that you would want someone who may be your back-up QB to have all the opportunities he could possibly have--not just for the benefit of himself, but for the team. That may have been a factor in putting him on scholarship.

That's exactly why they stressed that this was done in the interest of fairness. Fairness may not have been the most important reason to do it, but you can bet your ass that it was the most important thing in Bauserman's mind.
