QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Great game. That will keep him in the mouths of every analyst for the rest of the season as one of the higher tier QBs. He may win some conference awards and is keeping every D coordinator up in the Big 10 with nightmares. JT Barrett hell of a freaking game son

An invite would be a huge accomplishment and if he keeps it up, well deserved. But I don't even want to think about it really...I just want to marinate in the performance he gave tonight. Talking to the other alumnus tonight, I struggled to recall a single mistake. Even if there was a minor one, he never came close to making a major mistake, all the while making HUGE, HUGE plays with his arm and legs. We are just incredibly lucky to have this kid for the foreseeable future. He is everything I want in a QB...cerebral, a clear leader, even keel, good arm and decisive, extends plays with his legs, and delivers in the clutch. Give me JT Barrett every single year at QB.

Yep. This game felt like Troy Smith vs scUM in 2004 (holy shit, that was 10 years ago???)...the breakout performance, and launching pad for something special.

Had not thought of that yet but very good analogy (and yes holy shit, cannot believe that was 10 years ago). You knew he was special but broke through on the big stage, much like Troy in that game.

He might of missed a read or 2 on the take it or pull it and there was whatever that was at the end of the game but other then that he was practically flawless which is more then you can ask in big games against top opponents.

Exactly. That was the only couple plays we brought up...there was one play on the goal line where JT gave and could have walked in...but sometimes it is tough to tell if it is a true option read or a prolonged dive. It seems when it is a true read, he always gets it. Either way, that might well have been his only flaw(s) and you will take that performance any day.

Gotta say, it is odd watching Connor Cook run the 3-steps right down the LOS, then 3 step drop to throw it deep plays that Troy executed so often to perfection. Staple of the Walrus's offense.

Noticed that too.. they ran it once and got sacked lol...

Agreed RB... he wasn't even in danger of making a poor throw. His only dumb move was when he tried to bail on that sack and got the intentional grounding. He didn't force one throw...

Side note where was all this roll-out passing with a pulling guard for protection? Loved that in JTs game tonight

JT Barrett now has 2,156 passing yards for 2014, which is already the 10th best season for any Buckeye quarterback.

The single season record is 3,330 yards by Joe Germaine in 1998. Assuming a 13-game season, Barrett is on pace for 3,114 yards.

Barrett has 26 TD passes for 2014, which is already the 3rd best season for any Buckeye quarterback.

The single season record is 30 by Troy Smith in 2006. Assuming a 13-game season, Barrett is on pace for 37.5 TD passes.
