QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

JT Barrett now has 2,156 passing yards for 2014, which is already the 10th best season for any Buckeye quarterback.

The single season record is 3,330 yards by Joe Germaine in 1998. Assuming a 13-game season, Barrett is on pace for 3,114 yards.

Barrett has 26 TD passes for 2014, which is already the 3rd best season for any Buckeye quarterback.

The single season record is 30 by Troy Smith in 2006. Assuming a 13-game season, Barrett is on pace for 37.5 TD passes.

Wow you have had a busy day going from the scUM suckfest to the JT Awesomeness!!!!

Pretty sure he broke the single season TD record tonight. The goog isn't helping me out. Anyone?

Braxton Miller had 24 passing TDs and 12 rushing TDs in 2013

JT Barrett has 26 passing TDs and 8 rushing TDs this season.

Pete Johnson rushed for 25 TDs in 1975
Troy Smith passed for 30 TDs in 2006

So not quite, but he still has at least 4 more games and only two more TDs to go.

Braxton Miller set the single season total TD record with 36 in 2013. JT Barrett has 34 total TD so far this season.

Braxton also set the single season total yardage record with 3,310 yards (2,039 passing, 1,271 rushing) in 2012. Barrett has 2,738 total yards (2,156 passing, 582 rushing) so far this season, which is already good for 8th place in tOSU history.

Barrett should easily break both records, along with the passing TD mark of 30 and possibly the passing yardage mark of 3,330.

NOTE: The passing yardage record (3,330 yards by Joe Germaine in 1998) is higher than the total offense record (3,310 yards by Braxton Miller in 2013) because Germaine had -83 rushing and finished the 1998 season with 3,247 total yards.

#TAMU TF QB Kyle Allen has been named the Walter Camp National Offensive FBS Player of the Week after throwing 4 TDs in win at #Auburn.

I understand the kids a true freshman.. but come on now... 4TDs in the first half .. did absolutely nothing to help his team win in the 2nd half...

JT got the shaft on this one...

J.T. Barrett better than Braxton? Spartans LB says “way better”
There has been a lot of speculation and some mild, perhaps displaced, debate about whether or not J.T. Barrett should start ahead of Braxton Miller in 2015 (assuming Miller does return to Ohio State for 2015). Barrett, a redshirt freshman, has been performing well since his first real big test against Virginia Tech early in the season, and now that the Buckeyes are in a groove and making a run for a possible return to the Big Ten championship game, Barrett is becoming a respected player around the Big Ten. But is it too early to suggest Barrett is significantly better than Miller, a two-time Silver Football award winner in the conference?

Michigan State linebacker Taiwan Jones isn’t holding back in his praise of the new starting quarterback in Columbus. While speaking to reporters this week, Jones suggested Barrett is a “way better quarterback” than Miller. Asked to clarify his statement, Jones scaled back the hype slightly, but stuck to his word in suggesting Barrett is a better option for the Buckeyes.

“As an athlete, I feel like Braxton Miller is better, but I feel … (Barrett) fits better for that offense,” Jones said, per Detroit Free Press.

J.T. Barrett is having a strong year. He has won Big Ten Freshman of the Week several times this year, and a few weeks ago he won Athlon Sports' National Freshman of the Week award for his play against Maryland. This week he is receiving even greater recognition, earning Week 11 National Player of the Week honors from Athlon.

Yeah yeah, but Allen plays in SEC against an SEC team, so he had to win it... And, SEC SEC!!! :sarcastic:

An invite would be a huge accomplishment and if he keeps it up, well deserved. But I don't even want to think about it really...I just want to marinate in the performance he gave tonight. Talking to the other alumnus tonight, I struggled to recall a single mistake. Even if there was a minor one, he never came close to making a major mistake, all the while making HUGE, HUGE plays with his arm and legs. We are just incredibly lucky to have this kid for the foreseeable future. He is everything I want in a QB...cerebral, a clear leader, even keel, good arm and decisive, extends plays with his legs, and delivers in the clutch. Give me JT Barrett every single year at QB.

Very nitpicky but there were a few option reads that looked wide open for him off tackle and he gave it to Eze for minimal gain.
I'm happy he let Eze take it anyway though -- less pressure on that knee ... let Eze fight for the difficult yards.
