Gut check for JT tonight. He was on his knees for a bit but ended up on his toes with the team on his back. I'd say it's a passing grade.

If he was hurt in the second quarter, then running him at the end of the half when we were running out the clock instead of one of our bevy of running backs just looks that much more idiotic....MENSA

People still want to blame Herman for the play calling but it's on Urban also and we won bottom line. Obviously, with Barrett hurting they didn't want to run him too much. It's also obvious that's Ped State's defense is the real deal. When the game was on the line Barrett was nails!

JT needed a game like this. A tough game where the defense was taking away a lot of options and things weren't quite going his way. They pulled out the win in a different way and he had a major hand in it. Great game for a RS freshman to get through on the road. Should only help before going into E Lansing against a better team. On to the next and get healed up.

Penn State's secondary is horrendous in coverage. Which is what we didn't bother to do after the first quarter and a half. Instead, when the Buckeyes needed to air it out, Herman went the VT route and just ran verticals. The runs on second and short and third and short drove me insane. We had a 2nd and 2 from inside PSU's 25, and ran the ball twice up the gut. Why not air it out on 2nd and short, and convert the 3rd and manageable if you don't complete the pass?
