QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Due to a lack of arm strength. Which as a coordinator, you adjust to your QB's strengths not weaknesses. Herman has done the opposite.
JT also has to adjust. Yes he has limited arm strength. So he HAS to step into his throws and put more on it. It's not always going to be as easy for him as Miller, but he's got to make that deep throw. He simply has to make it.

Per Urban's presser:

I wouldn't be completely opposed to just playing Cardale the entire game, or at most playing JT the first half then pulling him.

Thank god we are playing Illinois next week.

What exactly does that even mean anymore? Michigan? Penn State? Maryland? Rutgers? I think we need to be honest with ourselves about how "tough" the B1G is these days.

B1G sucks, there is no denying that.

Wisky showed some signs of life against Maryland last week as they completely shut down a serviceable Maryland offense.

He was hurt and couldn't plant to throw. Hurt in the second quarter. The coaches shut the offense down.

He doesn't have much arm strength either way. His biggest strengths have been awareness, touch, and getting the ball to the right guy. Arm strength isn't the most important thing though, just ask Peyton Manning. JT needs to improve his accuracy, to be sure. Especially on the deep balls...I'm not overly concerned with his arm strength, I just think he's short arming some of those deep balls.

I may grade more harshly than others, but you really can't compare JT's game to Braxton's. Against Navy, Braxton would probably have had not only 200+ yards passing but 100+ rushing and our RB's would have had a ton more rushing yards due to the threat of Braxton keeping it. He's just a different animal. And really, I'm saying absolutely nothing negative against JT. A B grade your first game in nearly 2 years and first as a collegiate athlete as a redshirt freshman is fan-freaking-tastic. But that doesn't mean it was an A. If his performance was an A, then what would you grade Kenny Hill's performance? Is there a letter in the alphabet that comes before A? Because it would be whatever that is. Maybe even 2 letters in front of it.

Edit: and I refer you to Urban's comments in the post game. He also gave JT a B. There's nothing wrong with a B. I think we all got them in our lives at one point in time, and getting a B as a redshirt freshman is like getting a B as a freshman or sophomore taking a senior level course. Great.

Just sayin': Lately not so good, maybe a D (or worse). Texas A&M is in a bit of a state of panic this season after losing three straight games in SEC West play. After starting the year with five straight wins, with quarterback Kenny Hill throwing 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions, the Aggies have lost to Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama by a combined score of 142-51. Hill was intercepted six times in those games, and now it may be costing him his job as the team’s starting quarterback. On Tuesday, Texas A&M offensive coordinator Jake Spavital confirmed the quarterback competition has been reopened as the Aggies look to turn things around.
