QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Go back and watch JTS pick to Gerbil and you'll see on a crossing route someone was wide open. Many many times the WRS are wide open and he's just too late. I fail to believe that he was dynamic in 14 throwing the ball and now against a good defense he can't complete 50 percent of his passes.

He needs to stay and we need a real QB coach. If he comes back with all the players we could have returning he may be able to end the year with a strong performance and sneak into the top 3 rounds. Right now as it stands he's not draftable

JT is a winner on the college level. He has carried this team on his back many, many times. But the level of play between college and the NFL is significant. If he is struggling passing on the college level he doesn't have a chance in the NFL. I agree that he needs to stay another year and get coached up big time.

This in spades... after JT breaks some runs he passes so much better, I don't know if its because he has more time because the pass rush slowed down or doesn't blitz/pressure or if the DBs are more worried about him scrambling but after he starts breaking off runs either designed or plays break down his passing seems to be much better.

It is frustrating because WRs are frequently running free, JT just isn't seeing it. I don't know what happened to him after losing the job to Cardale last year, but he doesn't seem comfortable releasing the ball unless his target is WIDE open. After nearly three full seasons as a starter, the fact that he's not demonstrating improved touch or any ability to throw a receiver open is disconcerting.

At the beginning of last season when they went with Jones while still waivering on who to start I knew it would be the bane of the season. I had no idea the carry over it would bring with it into this year. I know Urban said JT wasn't playing the way he should/could in the summer, but the back & forth was too much for his confidence. Get him a guru, a shaman, a therapist - anything! Just get him correct in the head.

There was also a pass late in the third where he checked it down to Weber 5 yards behind the LOS and killed a drive. His first or second read was AJ Alexander, who was so wide open on a crossing route he probably would have nearly scored.

I mentioned in the game that I wanted JT to channel his inner-Troy. I'm tossing that out the window...I just don't see it happening this year.

What I want to see from JT is for him to play the way Krenzel did....he's got the leadership and intangibles --- just minimize negative plays and take what is being given by the defense. The defense is good enough to keep OSU in almost any game if the offense is even passable.

Funny. I mentioned in another thread, maybe Sparty, that JTs play is Krenzelish. Which is to say I absolutely love him even if he sometimes misses a throw.

Kind of Andrew Luck. Sometimes he just needs something to get him going. Urban is the only one that can fix this issue and he needs to do it as soon as the season is over. I also think we need to modify the offense to include the QB being both under center and in the gun. The offense needs some updating.
