It seems the only receiver he trusts this year is Samuel. Last year he looked to have trust that Thomas and Samuel and Brax could get open after he threw the ball. Even though he didn't use Samuel or Brax that much, he would throw the ball and they would make a move to get open and under the ball. Our receivers not named Samuel this year are just too green, they run their routes, but they don't have the shake and bake to get open, they don't have the instincts to know when to break off their routes. It's pretty obvious that JT doesn't trust that if he throws the ball to the open area that they will get there. You can't wait till they are open read and throw. Put a stop watch on JT..he has the time most plays.
Interesting stats from CFB film room...
Doesn't feel like it but numbers don't back up the feeling.
Yea, Other than Oklahoma I don't think any of those 18 completions came in big games. I also can't believe we've made well over twice as many downfield attempts as last year.
Oh how quickly I forgot about Cardale Jones. Those are just Barrett's numbers. JT only had 147 attempts to Cardale's 176.

"I think what really has happened is that there is a lack of trust with Aaron Rodgers. And that lack of trust is when you go out as a quarterback and your receivers haven't gotten open, it's hard to anticipate that they're going to get open on time. So as a quarterback, you drop back and you kind of just in the back of your mind are going, 'OK, probably not going to get open, I'm going to have to buy some time and make a play.' And then all of a sudden they get open on time and you're like, 'Hey he got open' and you're a half-second late.
"You're hesitating before you throw it and now you're a little behind the eight ball as a quarterback. That to me is what I see with Aaron Rodgers. There is no trust there, he's not sure, and then when it finally happens, he's trying to play catch-up and missing some throws that he normally would make. On an everyday basis, he makes most of the throws that he's missing this year.
"But I have to believe it's a trust, it's a hesitation that's happened because of all the struggles they've had over the last year and maybe a little bit more."
Tears in AA, but the Cult is pissed because J.T. and Barkley actually tied for the award. Of course the B1G conspiracy is in full force because Barkley didn't win it alone. Is that a jet engine I hear outside my office in Irvine, CA?
No?
Oh, it's just the whining coming from Ann Arbor and happy (scum-of-the-earth) valley. Only a little louder than usual. No big deal
Well of course they're pissed, seeing as Barkley led his team to the play...oh, wait.Tears in AA, but the Cult is pissed because J.T. and Barkley actually tied for the award. Of course the B1G conspiracy is in full force because Barkley didn't win it alone.
