QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Would like to see Barrett come back for his final season. There has been a lot of talk that J T would be a hard sell for the NFL, regardless if he came out now, or waited for his senior year. To me, that is too far down the road right now. The 2017 season should be a different look for him, being that the Offensive line will have more experience and our depth at the wide receiver and tight end positions should be stronger also. And there is still two games left to play in the play-offs. Maybe Urban Myer has a couple of aces of his sleeve, yet to deal. And we all know that Myers is always full of surprises around this time of the year.

J.T. BARRETT'S RECORDS MIGHT ALREADY CEMENT HIS LEGACY AS OHIO STATE'S BEST QUARTERBACK EVER

Imagine an ideal scenario in Tampa in a few weeks, after Ohio State will have defeated Clemson in Glendale. It had just followed that with a win over the Peach Bowl winner en route to Ohio State's second national championship in three years.

In that scenario, isn't J.T. Barrett now Ohio State's all-time greatest quarterback? Is it even a discussion?

Ohio State fans bemoan the spotty play from the third-year signal-caller, but his lowlights in a given game mask that he's credibly challenging the record books at almost every statistic for a quarterback. Barrett's likely return for a redshirt senior season should afford him the opportunity to put his name on top of almost all the records.

I'll say at this point Rex Kern is "best Ohio State quarterback ever".

Troy Smith was a great Ohio State quarterback, 3-0 vs scUM, won the Heisman, put up great numbers, and exhibited outstanding leadership; however, he was the losing quarterback in his final game at Ohio State (i.e. BCS Championship). If he had won that last game I believe that he would be recognized as the current undisputed "best Ohio State quarterback ever". I'm thinking that to be the "best Ohio State quarterback ever" you might need a National Championship on your resume (i.e. as the starting QB).

I suppose it's possible, but I wouldn't say it's probable. Regardless, JT currently has unfinished business in Columbus.

Even though he led Ohio State to the College Football Playoffs, it hasn't been Barrett's best year. His numbers clearly went down after Tom Herman left Ohio State's OC position. Guess where Herman coaches now? Texas, also known as Barrett's dream school.

Due to the graduate-transfer rule, Barrett would be able to reunite with his offensive coordinator without having to sit out a season.
