QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Not excusing JT by any means, but if Jones was in the car why the hell wasn't Jones driving in the first place?

In the Air Force if you are a passenger in a car with an intoxicated drive, and he gets pulled over your ass is going to be in serious trouble for being a bad wingman. Now, I know the military has different standards and this isn't the military. However, I am still curious as to why Jones allowed JT to drive.

No word on Cardale being in the car but here's the version I was told by a friend in the CPD:

There was a checkpoint that a car tried to avoid. When they tracked down the car, the driver was cooperative and blew just over .08

He continued that the cops that run checkpoint are a "weird bunch" and that he would have taken JT home. This officer is a life long M*ch*g*n fan, too. Christ.

"Blasted out of his mind" might be a stretch, but it's not unreasonable to wonder if JT was driving because he perceived himself to be more sober than Cardale. Might get interesting if Urban benches them both. Shame is that JT is just about the last guy, behind Joshua Perry and maybe Zeke, that I'd expect this sort of poor judgment from.

I remember a young QB that took $500 from a booster. His career turned out pretty damn well. Positive thoughts friend.

Not before the suspension resulting from the $500 most likely cost OSU a win over the Texas team that went on to win the NC and quite possibly an undefeated season and NC berth as well. I'm not going to jump off a cliff or anything, but unless everybody else really closes ranks, goes us against the world, and rallies, a lot could be lost.

Guys.. The legal limit for under 21 is not .08 - it is .02

Guess my feelings depend on what he blew/how intoxicTed he was. OVI is selfish & serious [Mark May]. I get that he is 20 and I got picked up at 20 for the same thing - so - not casting stones so much as hoping he learns the lessons I did without hurting anyone else.

And a few years ago, he would have been under the arbitrary number that the church ladies lobbied for (they're lobbying for .05 now). This is all bullshit. The overwhelming majority of drivers that are involved in DWI injury/fatality car wrecks are at double the legal limit and are repeat offenders. This crusade is no longer about "drunk driving." Notice they haven't even used that term in a long while. It's "drinking and driving" now.

One should read some of the recent statements by the founder of MADD, Candy Lightner. She's explicitly stated that MADD has been hijacked by religious nutjobs and is out to harass any form of social drinking. States and municipalities are happy to go along for the ride because DWI arrests pour huge amounts of money into the coffers.
