QB CJ Stroud (All B1G, 2022 B1G QB of the Year, All-American, NFL OROY, Houston Texans)

An injured Stroud is better than the other 3? Wow. Dennis has work to do.

Well the other 3 are Jack Miller, who I do think they'd rather have an 80% Stroud instead, a late enrollee high school senior, and a true freshman who is even younger. So, I do think a dinged up Stroud is probably the best option....we will likely see McCord the next couple weeks though, so things could get interesting.

He took some big leaps today. Made many more difficult throws against a much better defense than last week. Just needs time to grow into the spot and drop the nerves.

Definitely think he needs to keep on 3-5 read plays though. He has wheels and it would help much on the dive plays that aren't reads. But if he's dinged up it's harder to justify it.

Stroud isn't the problem on the team. Yes, he throws some high balls, but people are complaining about a 19yo in his second CFB game who threw for 480+yds. When Haskins threw as many times in a defense as bad, he at least had been in the system for 3 years and played in multiple games. If McCord plays, I hope it's to get Stroud healthy and not to bench the kid who is baring the brunt of the fans anger, which should be directed at the defensive coaches.

Stroud and the offense played well enough to win and earn them more credit.

Yes, CJ had some high passes. His footwork needs further improvement but as pointed out on BP, he may have some shoulder pain to deal with. That will also effect trajectory depending on where you experience pain in your throwing motion.

You can't pair a young offense that flashes a high ceiling with a defense that can't generate negative plays, turnovers and gives up historically bad yardage.

Anyone thinking that switching QB's would have magically won this game or fix the defensive issues simply isn't living in reality.
