After the spring I really though McCord looked to be the best option honestly. However, I'm not there around the team watching the interactions and marking the improvements and deficits. None of these QBs is Justin Fields. None of these QBs are JT Barrett either. JT gets grief for his passing but he was second to none in leadership and intelligence in the RPO game. Any of the QBs on this roster need time to sort that stuff out and Stroud is getting better each game out. His passes were more crisp yesterday and he absolutely was fearless down the middle of the field which stresses the hell out of a defense. He missed a couple open throws, mainly the game-tying TD to a wide open Wilson late in the game but he dropped some dimes too.
If he's not healthy enough to run RPO that obviously takes away a big element of our offense. He can still help himself by running, taking whats wide open and sliding down or out of bounds to avoid hits and injury. The QB position is more than handing off and throwing the ball downfield and it takes time to develop all of those things on the field, in the games. The next two weeks the other QBs will get some snaps so we'll see what they look like and the overall yards and TDs wont really matter. Decision making and execution will determine who is really the best option, if not Stroud. Stroud just needs more games and he'll be just fine.
