QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Obviously we're not about putting up twitter posts here, not that I blame anyone. I guess Adam Schefter and ESPiN made a little slip early.

Basically they have an article ready that says "Jones Declares, Eyes Cleveland" "Dream Job".

And believe me, we'd LOVE to have Cardale in Cleveland.

I think Urban may have pushed him to go now. Best for both parties. Makes Urbans life easier, and avoids a split in the locker room. The depth at QB is still as strong as anywhere in the country.

I don't think Urban would push any of his guys to go for any other reason than he thought it was the best decision for the player, period. This is Cardale's life. Meyer is a grown man. He's paid to manage the locker room and look out for the best interests of his players.

I respect your opinion here but I disagree. The reason being that I believe JT will likely start again next year simply because he fits what Meyer does a bit better.
No, Jones makes Meyer's system run better. His arm strength and accuracy lengthens the field more than either Barrett and Miller do, and thus allows Elliott to run better. You don't think that Zeke magically happened to run off three straight 200+ yard games against top defenses (except Oregon's) by coincidence, do you? Tell me you think we were going to score 52 offensive points against Wisconsin or 35 offensive points against Alabama with Barrett at QB.

So what? Are you really going to compare a completely different situation--under John Cooper no less--with what is happening nearly 20 years later?
Sure. Not saying it's the same, but all I am saying is that him leaving may not be bad for the program. We are stacked at QB at its not always healthy to have QB controversy. Urban is clearly the better locker room guy, but he can't just be expected to squash all controversy. That would not be possible.

Like I said, I want CJ to stay. I want him to get the opportunity to start and see what he can do for a whole season. He has superstar written all over him. If he does go to the NFL, I just hope he doesn't get weeded out because of lack of experience. He has played about 200 minutes of football above the high school level.
