QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Nope, been watching for about 34 years now. Braxtons got pretty average arm, nothing special. Its wrong, sorry, dont know what to tell you. If its so great why was he a projected RB/WR for the draft even before the injury?
Because he wasn't very accurate and wasn't the best at reading a defense? When was the last time you were in to see an optometrist?

What does a mid-3rd rounder get? Maybe a couple million over four years? Take off 10% for his agent and then 35% to Uncle Sam before he sees a cent. If he gets $2mil for 4 years, after agent and taxes he gets about $1.2mil, or $300,000 a year. Sorry, but that ain't shit compared to his possibly making 5-10 times that if he stays and Ohio State and lights it up.

I'm torn, as many of you undoubtedly are-I hope he does what's best for himself and his family. I also selfishly want to see him tear up the Big Ten next year. I think leaving is best, however, because his stock just can't be much higher. I'd love to see him stay, but I don't see how that's the best move.

I doubt very seriously if the locker room would be split if all three QBs were here...

It's what happened in 1996. My dream scenario is CJ stays and starts all year. I would be really excited to see what he could do in an entire season. But this would come at a risk of controversy. CJ can't stay and not start. That wouldn't work well in my opinion. Miller adds another dimension into this as well. The last thing this team needs is something to distract them from the job at hand next year.

Only throw you need to see.. vs Illinois in the 4th.. he lasered one in there in the endzone with the guy draped all over him that only the receiver could catch... he ended up not catching it but man.. that throw was money... NFL Money.

edit:one minute mark

I forgot about the hit Cardale put on that Illini defender. :slappy:

Braxton's arm is/was plenty strong for the NFL. What he has lacked is the accuracy/touch, IMO. Plus, he was prone to making some bad throws. Now, that's not to say he couldn't have made a significant leap this year had he not been injured. I think he improved exponentially year-to-year from 2011-13, so another leap may have happened.

Nope. it wasn't.

I think things like that are what separates Meyer from John Cooper.

I respect your opinion here but I disagree. The reason being that I believe JT will likely start again next year simply because he fits what Meyer does a bit better. CJ could come back and maybe he would start but that is not even close to a given. JT already beat him out once, yeah, that could change...but then again it might not. I don't think it's a bad decision for him to go pro at all.

In my opinion, "more likely than not" is a gross overstatement. Cardale made a lot of plays in that 3-game run that Barrett did not show an ability to make this season.
I personally don't. Cardale made plays that Barrett couldn't, but one could easily say that Barrett would have made many plays that Cardale couldn't have. We went on an epic 3 game run because Eze went nuts and the defense played out of their minds. Cardale was great, but JT wins those games as well IMO. But we (and the entire forum, not just us) are arguing over which Playboy center spread model is the hottest. It's getting a little redundant.
