QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

I would take the guy who has 11 starts, put up 45 TD, broke numerous records, over a guy who started 3. Barrett can only dream of jones decision making? did you watch Barrett this year?

Good point. It's all about numbers and breaking records during the regular season against bad teams (other than Michigan State), after all. Who cares about silly things like national championships and beating top 5 teams? :roll1:

Sure Arm Strength is, but as Meyer has proven over time thats only a plus for him in his system. None of Tebow, Leak, Smith, Harris, Braxton or Barrett had strong arms.
Braxton did. The key will be if Braxton still will. For Braxton, it was the mental side of the game and accuracy. He in theory should have vastly improved the mental side from his junior season, and if he can get back his strong arm I think he's the starter.

I think the point is though that one group of people are saying "look at these last three games, Cardale should be the starter" while ignoring the fact that JT was a stud and more likely than not would have accomplished the same feat. Correct me if I'm wrong, but our defense and RB position does not have Cardale starting, right? Those were 2 HUGE reasons why that run happened. It wasn't Cardale by himself.

Said this in the QB thread
Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him give it a shot if he has one more good game.

Amazing position to find himself in.
Yup. He had one more good game.

I think you guys are crazy thinking he a fringe 4-5th rounder. This guy goes in round 2 or 3 at the latest. He is going to rock that combine- size, presence, and he can spin the damn ball all over the field. Mix that in with his personality and story- he'll find success. No brainer to leave and what an amazing circumstance. So awesome for Ohio State, Cardale and his family.

It is about numbers, but your right we should judge careers on THREE games, might as well call Jones the best QB football has ever seen at any level, HS, College or Pros. No QB has ever played as great as Cardale Jones ever has, he's the best, never seen anything like him and never will see anything like him again.

In my opinion, "more likely than not" is a gross overstatement. Cardale made a lot of plays in that 3-game run that Barrett did not show an ability to make this season.

It's my fault for watching it, but that fat pos Trevor Matich chiming in on Cardale and his chances in the NFL got to play the antagonist and spew about how Cardale doesn't have "NFL accuracy" and barely has college accuracy, would be an immediate regret for any team that would draft him and that he wouldn't even have a shot at starting if he returns to Ohio State.

I think Urban may have pushed him to go now. Best for both parties. Makes Urbans life easier, and avoids a split in the locker room. The depth at QB is still as strong as anywhere in the country.
I doubt very seriously if the locker room would be split if all three QBs were here...

A 3-0 record in three games against the #12, #1 and #2 teams in the nation. I'll take that over a 11-1 record over one good opponent.

GQBOAT!
Look we get it Buckeyesin07, you think Jones is the greatest thing since sliced bread, no one will ever compare. i mean its not like he was 3rd string for a coach with 3 NCs and one of the all time best winning percentages without reason or something.

But the good chances are still there Barrett wins those 3 games, maybe Miller as well.

He's a special talent. You can't teach his size and arm strength. I was also pleasantly stunned by his accuracy. The question marks will, obviously, be experience, his ability to read complex defenses, and moving through progressions. Not gonna lie... those are pretty big question marks.
