QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

I'll add my 2 cents to this discussion. My oh my how some forget so easily. I remember a lot of comments 2 years ago when Kenny G took over after Braxton's injury. Some were ready to turn the team over to Kenny G. JT gets hurt, Cardale does a terrific job, but now some forget about the record setting numbers put up by JT. All of this while 2 time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year Braxton is out with an injury. In Urban I trust. Urban will see how this plays out and will make the best decision for the Team.

With the way twitter is today, and how kids like to toy with people, you never know. Maybe he just wants to build some well deserved excitement. I wouldnt be shocked if he stays... maybe thats the selfish side of me. Last week I thought going was in his best interest, but right after we raised that trophy, I didnt want all of this to end.

Taking the under on this is as easy as taking EzE for 120.5 yards plus in the NCG.

No, Jones makes Meyer's system run better. His arm strength and accuracy lengthens the field more than either Barrett and Miller do, and thus allows Elliott to run better. You don't think that Zeke magically happened to run off three straight 200+ yard games against top defenses (except Oregon's) by coincidence, do you? Tell me you think we were going to score 52 offensive points against Wisconsin or 35 offensive points against Alabama with Barrett at QB.
JT runs read option in a way CJ doesn't. Just my IMO, But that's what Meyer does. CJ absolutely offers some things in terms of arm strength and pocket stability that few other QBs can offer, but I don't think that is necessarily the most important thing in this offense. If Barrett heals, I'm assuming that that he would win it over again. Obviously I don't know anything, just an opinion.

No question that CJ added a vertical dimension that wasn't there with JT. However, I thought we got away too much from the horizontal to intermediate game that we had along with the read option. Barrett with a bigger arm is the prototype QB for the system, imho.

This

RBs will be drastically improved with CJ back there. He's accuracy on deep balls pulls safeties. It's great. JT doesn't have that.

CJ can learn the reads. He does that, then he is exactly Barrett with a bigger arm and a stronger body to tackle. He isn't that much slower than JT. And he doesn't go down easy.

Same defense that gave up 1,000,000 passing yards to Baylor? This isn't the same MSU defense of years past. The only reason why MSU is any good is that they have a very balanced offense.

you know Wisconsin and MSU are near identical in defensive stats right and thats after Baylors output

4.91 YPP vs 5.09
35 TDs vs 36 TDs
4117 yards vs 4105
28% 3rd down vs 31 %

Wisconsin was very slightly ahead, and that probably wasn't until after the Baylor game
