QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Cardale is a QB. He just needs to be patient. All it takes is one season for the NFL to grab you if they see what they are looking for. If he stays focused and works very hard on the field and in the classroom and remain mentally engaged, and also turn his body into a speciman and shave off some of that fat, he has a very good chance to make it. Imagine someone that size, with good touch and accuracy and ability to run. He also seems to have a great personality and he just needs to make sure to become a leader, and I trust if one day he becomes the outright starter at Ohio State, he will be in the NFL.

Jut sayin': That's a big if considering the competition here at that position.

Wow, you've been playing too many video games. Cardale as a very tough battle to become a starter, and it'll only get worse every year. He could be a leader and help, but it says a lot if he's only brought in to run and in garbage time. NFL should not be brought up alongside his name, Kenny G had a much better chance than Cardale at making the NfL and he's in the arena league now...

Time will tell. Cardale is much bigger than Kenny G, who would be killed in the NFL. Mobile quarterbacks are high risk investments. Cardale has the frame to become a monster who can take the beating and keep going. He just needs to be ready and jump on the first chance.

Some people in this thread have spectacular imaginations. The kid is 9/16 passing for his career. Last week was just the second time he was permitted to throw the ball in an actual game. He completed less than 60% of his passes against the backups on one of the worst teams in all of college football. He couldn't beat out JT Barrett for the starting QB job - I'm not referring to the JT Barrett that has set records and become invaluable to this team - I'm talking about the JT Barrett that looked like a deer in the headlights against a bad Virginia Tech team. Despite all of those things, people are talking about the NFL and having him throw on third down in the biggest game of the year. Simply amazing.

It's like Taos without the benefit of knowing he just put down the bowl before posting.

Look, we all want CJ to do well for himself, but in time -- perhaps as early as next year -- his best chance to do well for himself may be at a different position. He's a pretty incredible athlete and has size and speed in his favor. I hope they can find a place to put it to good use.

The timing of that tackle after everyone was pushing him for DLine was pretty spectacular tbh.
I was disappointed when there wasn't a horde of people in this thread saying "SEE! SEE! I KNEW IT!"

I don't quite see how he switches positions or cracks the starting job (barring injuries) at this rate. Even if he's 3rd in line... the team needs a 3rd QB.

But Kenny could actually make reads and read a defense. Things that are extremely important for a QB at the highest levels. Cardale hasn't shown to be able to do either. He can have all the measureables in the world, but if you don't have either of those and you're not accurate, bringing up the NFL is almost a joke, he'd be glad to make it to arena as a QB. I believe he'll stay at QB in a leadership and backup capacity. Bu idk when he'd be considered a starter unless a massive injury in the foreseeable future. And I don't think Kenny would be killed at higher levels of football, because he's not that mobile, he's mobile enough, like Barrett. Both look to pass first then run. Cardale isn't even allowed to pass, so...
