QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

A WR??? Are we that hard-up at WR that we want a 250 lb guy who runs a 4.6 playing WR? Or are we just that bored that we have this much time to daydream?
He's the same height and 20 lbs heavier than Devin Funchess, who was a TE moved to WR. I haven't been able to find Funchess' 40 time, but he' not exactly a blazer...

Just a thought.......IMO it's too bad that Cardale and/or the coaching staff weren't willing to switch him to another position.

1. He isn't likely to beat out JT and/or Braxton anytime in the foreseeable future to earn the starting QB job.

2. Based on his "fiasco tweet" back in 2012 apparently he prefers athletics over academics. So I'll speculate that he would like an opportunity to play in the NFL; and I don' t think he is or will ever be a NFL caliber QB.

3. Cardale is an athlete (and with his size, speed, and strength) I believe that he potentially could be a major contributor or even a star at another position (i.e. WR, RB, TE, LB, or DE). Also, playing another position would help his chances at an NFL career.

CARDALE JONES WORKS THE HIT STICK ON POOR ILLINI DEFENDER

Cardale Jones would make one hell of a defensive end.

Funny the announcers didn't mention they were teammates at Glenville. So I'm sure that's not the first time something like this happened.

They did mention it.

Well the stadium PA guy didn't announce it.

And Bentley took the hit for nothing, the play (i.e. fumble) was changed to an incomplete pass on replay. Would be interesting to know what Jones said to him as they were getting up.

after last night... eliminated my concerns about him coming in.. cannon and as accurate as Barrett
Agreed

a couple of other things I saw would only be fixable with more game reps.... going through his progressions and touch on some of the shorter passes.

that laser he threw to Thomas that was well defended was impressive, but he never looked at from him.

Michael Crabtree might run a 4.8 and he's not exactly a small dude either. speed isn't everything for a WR, especially a possession guy like what Cardale would theoretically be...
