QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Lol I was a catcher for the longest time in baseball. A cup doesn't really prevent it hurting like a mofo. It just prevents you from ending up with popped grapes as well...

A baseball also is smaller, more direct, and travelling at a much faster rate. A helmet would at least be distributed to the legs as well and wouldn't just be a direct shot from a 60-90 mph ball going there (have no idea what level you played)

Small highschool. Our two best pitchers went on to play at small colleges so probably topped out at 80-85 MPH

I always meant to try out for the OSU club team but the fact tryouts were in the first month of school always threw me.

Just a thought.......IMO it's too bad that Cardale and/or the coaching staff weren't willing to switch him to another position.

1. He isn't likely to beat out JT and/or Braxton anytime in the foreseeable future to earn the starting QB job.

2. Based on his "fiasco tweet" back in 2012 apparently he prefers athletics over academics. So I'll speculate that he would like an opportunity to play in the NFL; and I don' t think he is or will ever be a NFL caliber QB.

3. Cardale is an athlete (and with his size, speed, and strength) I believe that he potentially could be a major contributor or even a star at another position (i.e. WR, RB, TE, LB, or DE). Also, playing another position would help his chances at an NFL career.

I'd think his ability to run people over is far too good to waste on defense.

I know he's been handcuffed.. we haven't been able to see anything.. we haven't seen his QB skills.. we don't know about his passing.. we don't know about his decision making.. and we don't even know about his athleticism.. We've seen he's a beast.. and we've seen he can use that feature... but whether he's a QB or any other position, we haven't had a chance to see it.. I feel bad for him too...

You bring up some good points here NJ-Buckeye. At Ohio State, there are so many quality athletics that you would think between Herman, Meyer and Warriner - somewhere down the road (say for instance against Michigan State) we could have a few aces up our sleeve to spring a surprise against our opponent when its really needed. Just a thought in my opinion.

I remember one play we used a surprise play against Texas by using Terrell Pryor as a W/R or tight end for a touchdown. It was a few years back but I remember that play and I liked what I saw.
