QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Urban just doesn't want Ronda Rousey on his ass.
I don't know. Josh Perry is the one with the selfie with Rhonda and she was leaning in.. Cardale might be on the outside looking in on this one.

I just hope Cardale finds the magic he had going late last year. I also hope if he has trouble, Urban leaves him in to let him fight his way out of it. None of this 2 qb system crap. The offense needs to find a rythm and that doesn't happen easily when bouncing between two qbs.

FWIW, other than Wisconsin, Jones has yet to play a clean game with no turovers.

As a starting QB, jones has thrown 7 TDs and 5 picks. This year alone he's only thrown 2 TDs and 3 picks, and has had numerous hand-off and snap fumbles.

The kid has a cannon for an arm, but he isn't exactly known for a mistake free game. For every touchdown bomb he throws, he also tosses one to the defense.

Those are great points. Cardale is also staring down his first and only option and not checking down to the various subsequent options, something he did not do last season. Last season, he was great at masking his intended target, whether it be through pump fakes or just making his reads. JT is still making his reads, but the accuracy is not there for either QB yet.

I'm very impressed by his comments after the game. His demeanor was very serious, he put a lot of blame on himself and graded hitself as a "C".

Ive always had a bad taste about Jones because of his immature ways but he owned up to them like a man tonight. Bravo.

Cardale Jones' Misses Cost Him a Huge Day

JonesClapSnap.jpg

It was a big week for Cardale Jones, who got a vote of confidence from his head coach when he was reaffirmed as the starter for Ohio State. The quarterback followed that up with his best day in a Buckeye uniform, throwing for a career-high 288 yards and two touchdowns, but could the day have been bigger?

“Oh my God,” Jones said in the positive when asked about if he could have had a better day. “Just because I could have put up a couple more touchdowns and simple fact is, it’s my fault for underthrowing balls.”

The game started on a good note for Jones, who completed his first two passes on the opening drive including a 38-yard pass to Michael Thomas for the first score of the game. He also hit Curtis Samuel up the middle for a 40-yard score later.

The topic after the game wasn’t what Jones did, but what he didn’t. When it came down to it, Jones could have had three more touchdowns and a huge passing day if he had completed a few deep passes when he had receivers open.

“Of course it’s on me,” Jones candidly admitted.

“Every underthrown ball, the receiver had the guy beat by a significant amount of yards and it could have been easy layups. Coach Meyer pulled me to the side like, ‘That’s your strength. That’s what helped us get to this point.’ You’re right. I got to compete them.”

Glad he's taking that on his shoulders and wants to improve on it. Much better performance today and think it's due to having the majority reps and better Oline play. Play calling was more fitted to his qb style as well. Like how he goes deep but wish it wasn't his go too when plays break down. Better defenses will take notice and start playing Center Field for those fly balls
