QB Antonio Henton (transfer to Ga. Southern and FT. Valley St.)

I still think the timing of the "scaled down" version of the offer all of a sudden come into being the very first business day after our loss to Illinois and the week of The Game should raise some eyebrows. I wonder if this "new offer" would've been given to him had we blown out Illinois and Boeckman had a 4 TD, 0 INT day...I'm dead serious here.

Now, I'm in no way saying that Antonio didn't deserve the new deal...in fact, I'm in 21's corner on the whole deal being total bullshit. I'm just saying the timing of the new offer is more than coincidental...

Maybe I'm missing something here, but wasn't all of this supposed to happen this week? I'm pretty sure they've been saying all along that the case would be heard yesterday. So, November 12 finally arrived and they offered a slimmed down version because it's becoming more and more obvious that they don't have anything on the kid.

He paid $159 fine yesterday and has rejoined the team fully.

actually it's not. that deal was given to the public defender's office about 2 weeks ago. henton fired the public defender and got Phillips, and the plea deal was pulled until the day of trial. there is no conspiracy, nothing nefarious, and no "coincidences" in timing.

edit: and john's school for 1st time offenders is becoming the norm now. it's a waste of taxpayer money.

Maybe they chose this week months ago because they knew what happens at the end of this week?

:paranoid:

Any chance ABC knows all the "facts" on this deal so that if Henton gets in the game, they can spout out all the "truths" to inform the country?

Nice find on that video grad, i guess when was he picked up? did he go to the alley and wait, or did they bust him right then? i'm with you, it was bogus, but it would be nice to see the entire thing happen, start to finish.

He never went to the alley...he drove away and was picked up a few blocks later on High St.

The female cop says he nodded his head in agreement so that counts as accepting the offer.

That's an abomination of the legal system. The prosecutor and police officer who decided to file charges in this case should be ashamed. I can't imagine how a competent criminal defense attorney doesn't get that charge thrown out.

Yet another she-said he-said thing. If Henton actually "accepted" the offer then why did he drive away? Total bullshit...

Quite a stretch.
