Preseason and Regular Season Polls (2016)

I hope you all are right. I'd like to see the Buckeyes enter The Game in the top 4. I just don't think that is happening without style points.

I watched the Texas A&M game with some of you. They looked like stewed cow manure.

Ironically enough, it's tsun who wants to see OSU come in as highly rated as possible.

If OSU wins The Game tsun will be in a 1 loss, non conference champ, beauty contest with Louisville and any one of UW/Clemson/Bama should there be a huge upset.

Just seems like a year with several good teams but no truly great ones. I'll give props to Bama for having a stout D but their offense doesn't blow me away.

Will be interesting to see if anyone separates themselves in the back half of the year.

tOSU has just as good of a shot as anyone in my book. And with Urbs at the helm, I'd feel good about our chances in the 4 team cage match.

These rankings coming out tonight are about as pointless as I can imagine. Ranked fourth? Ranked fifth? Does it even matter? The Buckeyes have to win out whether they are ranked fourth or fifth and if they don't, where they are ranked tonight doesn't matter. If they do, they are in, plain and simple.

For Washington, it doesn't matter if Ohio State is ranked ahead of them at four because if Washington wins out, the loser of Ohio State versus Michigan is going to drop below them.

All this hoopla about the mystery of who is going to be number four is just stupid. They are trying their best to make this interesting but it couldn't be any less interesting.

Yep

This is much ado about nothing

The only drama really is what happens if Clemson/UW or Bama lose one before the playoffs. Then it only matters if OSU wins The Game because they are eliminated with a 2nd loss.

Yes, sir. 5 was all we need. Handle business from here on out and I think we end up at #3 with a hot date against Clemson.

I prefer that 5 spot for the next couple games. Give them some motivation to knock scUM out. Speaking of that, say Bama, Clemson, Washington, tOSU, Louisville win out. Does scUM fall behind Louisville? Louisville having the 'better loss' than scUM with an unbeaten Clemson would lead me to believe they put them behind Louisville.

Buckeyes sitting at 5 behind Washington. I'm ok with that, just win out and we'll be where we belong.
I mean, I'm fine with it in the grand scheme of things, but the inconsistency bothers the hell out of me. So getting your doors blown off by Alabama apparently means more than losing in fluke fashion by 3 to a Top 10 team on the road? I mean that's exactly the logic the committee just used. A&M falling only falling four spots after losing to a terrible Miss State team is baffling as well. Meanwhile, Nebraska falls 9 spots despite both of their losses coming to teams in the Top 10. Makes no damn sense.

A&M is going to drop another game or 2 after losing Knight. Still blows my mind how they drop 4 spots when they didn't look good at all to a terrible team but hey it's SEC!
