Preseason and Regular Season Polls (2015)

I can understand Clemson being head of Ohio State....but not Alabama

"Ohio State struggled with Indiana and NIU"....well Alabama LOST to a now unranked team who just gave up 7 TD to a team who could manage 1 vs Toledo (not to mention their near loss to a bad Tennessee team)

Oklahoma State is currently ahead of ND in both the Coaches and the AP Polls, the latter being voted on by the media.
Which does not reflect how the selection committee votes...example, Notre Dame was ranked #8 in the AP and #9 in the coaches poll last week, yet the committee then voted Notre Dame at #5 after those polls were released.

ND is #5 right now and Ok State is #14 in the playoff rankings. No way Ok State jumps ND, who is a perennial media darling.

That's one of the nice things about CFP though... they don't really give a shit where they ranked you last week.
They're willing to re-evaluate the landscape every week.
The final product doesn't necessarily make sense... but... you're not waiting for the 5 teams above you to lose if you just did something impressive, unlike how AP and Coaches have traditionally gone.

I never said the committee follows the polls. I also never said Oklahoma State will for sure jump ND. My original post stated that I wouldn't be surprised if ND or Oklahoma State occupied the #4 ranking when the committee releases its rankings tomorrow. Saying there's "no way" that'll happen seems off base, given that it's already happened in the AP and Coaches Polls (again, not that the committee follows the polls, but it certainly is suggestive of the notion that Oklahoma State could jump ND in the CFP rankings tomorrow).

I think they are likely to put OK State ahead of Notre Dame based on the quality of the win against TCU. Notre Dame had previously gotten a bump based on beating Temple. The TCU win is the most impressive by either of them.
That comparing the ND win with the TCU win...I don't see Ok State jumping 10 spots and ND not moving at all. I guess we'll all see tomorrow...
