Under Armour Tottenham reveal (and it would've been funnier if Luka Modric was the model).

I'm not as bothered by it as you might think. Don't get me wrong - he's an excellent player who won't be easily replaced. However, the chairman has done a good job of letting him know who's in charge. There are still three or four years left on his contract, so if the club's valuation isn't met by a non-English club they'll hang on to him. That's pretty much how it played out last year, and somewhat to Luka's credit he was a good soldier once the summer window closed.

All in all though, I'm prepared for life without Modric in a Spurs shirt. They won't be as good without him, but it's an oppurtunity to buy one or more players who might grow into that role.

IMO, the only team that's going to buy Modric for more than the Spurs have him valued at, is Real Madrid. And that's only if, and that's a big IF, Kaka is sold.

Word is they increased their offer in the last couple days. Things could get interesting this week. Earlier rumors had Madrid not being willing/able to meet asking price and that they could possibly send a player back to Spurs to make up the difference. In that rumor, Sahin was the player that could have come to Tottenham, but I started seeing this past week that he could go on a loan deal to Arsenal instead.

Also, among non-English clubs, PSG is said to be willing to spend what the club is asking, but Modric does not want to go there.

Of course, since these are all Internet transfer rumors it's probably bullshit anyway.

Nuri Sahin isn't a bad player at all. IMO, he's the best Turkish national player right now. Wouldn't mind seeing him get a fresh start with a club he would ACTUALLY play for.

I had heard rumors before the window opened that Sahin may want to stay at Madrid until he retires, but how realistic is that? Players like David Beckham won't even retire with Madrid (Man U is where he will retire from, IMO).

Mourinho seems to have made it clear to him that ther won't be any minutes. That'll be even more true if they buy Modric. I suppose you can't blame him if he wants to hang on with one of the biggest clubs in the world, but at some point I imagine that he's going to want to be a player rather than a spectator.

Exactly. If he has any aspiration to become a world class footballer, he's going to need a change of scenery. Plus, his style of play would mesh well in the PL, IMO.

Beckham won't return to Manchester.
