Luka Modric flying to Spain to finalize the deal with Real, according to Sky Sports.

About time this whole matter gets done with, for all parties. Now both teams (especially Spurs) can move on.

Spurs fans are already flying off the handle over the fee - I'll wait and see. The first reports on the amount are almost always off the mark. It's Sky we're talking about here - the same folks who weeks ago said that a permanent deal for Adebayor was wrapped up.

I'm glad it seems to be coming to a close. The club has dicked around too long this summer. They knew that Modric was likely gone, and a replacement is needed. All of their other business was going to hinge on taking care of the Modric sale, and here we are just days before the season opener.

Spurs need strikers. Right now all they have is Harry Kane and Jermain Defoe - so really they have none. They need a replacement for Modric in midfield. They could use a young keeper as well. Friedel is rock solid, but he's old, not cut out for the style AVB wants to play, and you don't want to be left holding the bag when father time catches up with him.

Actually disappointed Spurs didn't close the Hugo Lloris deal/rumor.

When he was younger, he'd dive everywhere and take himself out of position (diving for crosses). But he's grown and doesn't do that anymore. He would've been a good signing.

If Spurs move from White Hart Lane to the Olympic Stadium, that would be great for the club as well. Nice, new neighborhood surround the stadium.

Yeah, I'd definitely like to see Lloris. Seems he'd be about perfect. Last I read, he'd be amenable to a move but OL keep moving the goalposts on price. I don't think the door is closed on that one, but I'm not sure it's going to get done either.

Lloris and Leandro Damiao are the two players I want most for the next few weeks. As far as Leandro goes, they've scouted him for three years now, continually come in low on their bids while the player goes out and continues to increase his value. Bagged another goal today in a friendly, I understand. I can't say I've seen too much of him, but in the friendly against the US with both him and Hulk on the pitch, I liked Leandro better.

It's my understanding that West Ham () are to take over the Olympic Stadium. I have no idea what they think they're going to do with all those seats. Supposedly they are obligated to keep the track in place for a long, long time as well. Spurs are pursuing their own staduim project, to be built adjacent to WHL.

Yeah, I was listening to British sports radio and they said Julio Cesar was more of a possibility to move to Spurs from Inter as the goalie, and I was sitting there wondering why Spurs wouldn't just pay a little more and get the goalie who's seven years younger (Lloris).

Their skill level -- Cesar to Lloris -- is similar.

Might as well get him (lloris) or say "screw it" and try to move Jack Butland to Spurs.

Also rumors about Song going to Barcelona. Not a great a time for us Arsenal fans. :(
It doesn't matter. They're not winning anything until there are some serious philosophical/personnel changes in the FO, which won't happen until the fans stop selling out the stadium or they don't get their Champions League check.
