Premier League (Official Thread)

Damning. Though I was hoping he'd sack up and publically blast their "let's make a profit and try to fall ass-backwards into a trophy" strategy.

Props to RVP for the classy statement. But we all know what is going on and don't need RVP to spell it out. These guys are turning into the Cleveland Indians of the EPL.

Park to QPR

Ji-Sung Park to QPR came out of the blue. But United have a lot of wingers ahead of him and he barely played in 2011-12.

Still, he played in the middle for Korea (prior to retiring). You'd think he'd want to go to a bigger club (in England, Italy, Germany, Spain, etc.) and not QPR.

Sky Sports can confirm that Manchester United ace Park Ji-sung has agreed a move to Queens Park Rangers.

QPR have agreed a deal with United, reportedly worth ?2million, and have made quick progress in agreeing terms.

Didn't ManU add Kagawa to play on the wing? A cut-rate Eden Hazard, as it were?

I've seen QPR mentioned in rumors for a lot of recognizable second-tier players. I think they are trying to make a splash to the extent that they are capable.

Pretty sure they purchased him to play behind Rooney in a 4231. We have plenty of quality wide players in Nani, Young, and Valencia.

Gotcha, I had seen him talked about as a winger, but he seems versatile and I wasn't sure how they planned to use him.

They'd really be wasting his talent on the wing. Even so, he's saying the right things and saying he wants to earn a central position.

I recall the British press killing Tony Fernandes -- QPR owner -- for trying to make QPR into a "celebrity" or "just names" squad. After bringing in Joey Barton for some ungodly reason, the British press weren't that off.

Lampard Dismisses MLS Link

Frank Lampard will eventually be in the MLS. And it will probably be L.A., New York or in Boston.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7881363/Lampard-rubbishes-LA-link

The 34-year-old will see his Stamford Bridge contract expire next summer and speculation has suggested that he could be tempted to take on a new challenge.

Pictures of Lampard taking in a Major League Soccer game with his agent Steve Kutner and Galaxy star David Beckham have only served to fan the transfer flames.

Spurs last week completed the transfer of Gylfi Sigurdsson - Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool fans seemed none too happy about the way that one went.

Today, they (FINALLY) resolved the Vertonghen saga. We've been told for weeks it was a done deal, but it was only announced by the club today. It's going to be a remade center back combo for the upcoming season, with Vertonghen and Kaboul as the likely first choice pair, and Steven Caulker used in rotation. They'll need to have one more body in the rotation, that's where the mystery is at the moment. Dawson is recovering from injury, Gallas is out of contract and has been linked with QPR and Ledley King is out of contract and probably headed for retirement.

The Oscar rumors that I mentioned before have lingered, so maybe there's more to it than I initially thought. I'm still not convinced though.

I'm starting to see rumors about a bid for Lewandowski. I don't really believe those yet either. The club needs to buy at least two strikers this summer. Adebayor is still in that mix and seem likely to be the next transaction that could be announced.

The John Terry trial began today (Monday, July 9) in England.

Many people already have an opinion on the matter in question and whether or not John Terry is a scumbag*.

Listening to British sports talk radio and some comments from listeners are funny (in regards to Terry).

*If cheating with a teammates ex-girlfriend is wrong, I don't want to be...

Apparently the c-word is trending on twitter in England. Only one man can make that happen.

Clint Dempsey to Liverpool ? There's some rumors abound that it's a done deal, but I'll believe it when I see it.
