Rough loss for ther Saints, who are looking like a midtable team now...they shouldn't have blown off the league cup, that was their shot at Europe.

You should listen to the Everton supporters on "606" (on BBC 5 Live). It's almost like Roberto Martinez is the second coming of Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes blew up Goodison Park or something. But it's all in good fun.
Well, one loss through what, 17 games? is pretty impressive...but of course Moyes assembled a lot of that talent...in today's game they were highlighting how he bought Coleman for like a case of shin guards and in 5 years he is a fixture at RB.

The Guardian is reporting the Spurs have given Tim Sherwood an 18 month contract.

One the one hand I'd like to think that this is Spurs being smart and biding their time until summer when there will be more and better candidates available. An 18-month contract is long enough that it removes the constant questions about Sherwood being a caretaker or a lame duck, while being short enough that there would be very little loss incurred if they sacked him at after the season and hired somebody else.

On the other hand I know better, and realize this is just Daniel Levy trying to be cheap and shrewd.

I liked what Sherwood brought in terms of tactics and team selection so far. I also think that he'll be found out, and there are holes in the team that can't be papered over.

Quite the start to Boxing Day. United score three unanswered after being down 2-0 after the first ten minutes or so.
