Premier League (Official Thread)

Theo Walcott out for six months with a torn ACL. The only natural wingers they have now are Gnabry, the Japanese kid who plays in the League Cup, and Ox, who is coming off a knee injury himself.

The guy has to feel like he's never going to play in a World Cup. Sven brought him for no reason in 2006 and he benchwarmed, Capello left him out for no reason in 2010, and now he's a lock to play on the right in 2014 and he fucks his knee.

That match was just UGLY last night. Chelsea made United look like an under 21 team, faster, more aggressive, and more disciplined. Moyes better get some new players in the summer, or this is not going to end well.

They might as well be a U-21 team if they're going to rely so heavily on a youngster like Januzaj like they have. I understand that Van Persie and Rooney were out due to injury. A club of their stature should have more senior player they could rely on ahead of him though. Their problems will seemingly be compounded if they don't turn things around and remain in Champions League football. I wonder what kind of effect that missing out on Europe would have with the amount of debt they're carrying.

This is a good as place as any to ask this question: I am going to London in May. My brother had a roommate from London that said one needs to declare for one side and never waiver. So which side, Chelsea or Arsenal? And any reasons. (BTW I have my mind made up but I want to see if I can be persuaded).

It depends, are you more comfortable with rooting for a team that pays the wages of a world-class scumbag like John Terry through oil money, or an itinerant club from South London with an 8+ year and counting trophy drought?

The thing I keep thinking about is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, an NFL franchise that is not well run (regardless if there's a salary cap here to try to equalize and not one over in England).

Sir Alex Ferguson is gone (maybe he was the balancing point after the Glazers took over) and perhaps now we see how the Glazers can actually run things. My prediction is not well.

Chelsea has a Russian billionaire, Jose Mourinho, Gianfranco Zola, the most cuntly John Terry, an old stadium they want to move out of, and very little success before they bought a title in 2004.

Arsenal has a chairman named Chips, Arsene Wenger, Thierry Henry, Liam Brady, his holiness Emmanuel Eboue, a pretty new stadium though with no charm, Fever Pitch, historical success, Stringer Bell, spectacular dominance in their local rivalry, and a shin-length gortex coat with a zipper like a Rubik's cube.

Of course, if you're a fan of Ohio professional sports teams, Tottenham is the logical choice.
