Are you helping the Buckeyes defensive staff game plan?

Actually, Milwwod isn't "helping" in the Defensive Game Plan, I seriously think he actually calls it. You don't know this, but Milwood is a Youngstown guy, and all Tressel did there was win National Championship after National Championship. Now, Tressel is at TOSU, and in 7 years he's in his 3rd BCS-NC Game. I think there's something going on between our "Pounder Of Punani" and the man in the vest. I have no conclusive evidence to support this, or even inconclusive evidence. Hell, I don't even know what my point is! But I will say this, Millwood very seldomly goes out on the "limb" without being right. So based on that fact, I'll agree that Hester gets nowhere near 100.

And a Flute with no holes, is not a flute,

NANANANANANANANANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peace.

Oh, I forgot, for my MVP I'll pick THE OHIO STATE DEFENSE."
Seriously, I think we shut them out and the Network gives it as a TOTAL group effort.

Vernon Gholston.... his speed will shock SEC fans much like Will Smith in 02 did to Miami fans. He has 2 sacks and 2 tackles for loss and many pressures that result in bad plays for LSU.....

TODD BOECKMAN..... everyone is writing him off and thinking we are going to run 80 percent of the time. He finds his game and all the hype from the announcers will be on him. 18 for 25 255 and 2 td's no int's...

I swear y'all talk more about speed than SEC fans do. I think the big thing about SEC speed is not clock speed of the individuals, it's the pace of the game that SEC teams play. It's all about big plays and big rewards. Yeah, we can pull out some lengthy, methodical drives too but, you're rarely going to find a whole game like that in the SEC. In summery, do i think that OSU player are slow because they play in the Big 10, certainly not. They play in D-1 football, they better be fast. Do they play up to SEC speed , no, that's for the coaches to decide and since you play in the Big 10, you don't need an SEC style to succeed, you need a Big 10 style of football to win.

Its not necessarily LSU or even UF fans that comment is directed toward. My in-laws live in Lexington and fans of mediocre programs are who seem to generally perpetuate this stereo type. I hear it constantly.... how are you going to hang with their speed??? then im like you mean UK has faster athletes then Ohio State and so on... I think game speed is based on the game plan and the ability to read what the other team is doing. If you hit a gap because you know or have seen a play or know the direction of a play and make hast and get their before it developes you are a fast team regardless of 40 times.

Totally agree.

It would be interesting to argue what school of football thought is better. Your definition of the pace of SEC football is the antithesis to "Tresselball." I don't think any other team in the Big 10 captures the "slow, methodical" pace better than Tressel's game. When it works, it is unstoppable; long, drawn out, hard hitting drives crush defenses and leave them demoralized and exhausted. Couple that with terrible starting field position, and several 3-and-outs, and you're looking at a game you can't possibly win because there is so little time left for your offense to do anything. You can see why having a guy like Beanie becomes so important.

However, there are some caveats. Tressel's M.O. in the bowl games has been to break tendencies and open up the play book, as many on here have already discussed. Obviously, last year, the new wrinkle to the offense was to suck massively, so hopefully this year we can execute and try something new. If we are succesful and get a lead on you guys, our defense will invariably clamp down and our offense will switch to full fledged Tresselball clock killing mode.

tigerkid05- good good point and one that I've never thought of and it actually does make sense to me. To me it does seem like the SEC does more razzle-dazzle stuff, goes deep more often, and goes for the home runs. Where in the big ten teams like OSU, UM, PSU, UW, and also MSU all are about the physically wearing you out. IF you look at teams like North Western and Purdue the first thing that comes to my mind is fast offenses. Why do I think that? Is it because they're fast? Hell no they're average at best, but the way they play in space and run around makes them look fast to me and many of us.

My picks are of course depending on if we win.

Offensive-ROBO, it'll be hard picking between beanie who has 120 yards and 1 td rushing or Robo with 100 yards recieving and 2 TD's. They'll give it to robo though for his late 55 yard TD catch that sealed the game for us.

Defensive- Malcom Jenkins, and it'll be because LSU will get tricky with the playbook IMO and Malcom will have an interception and will lock down Duecetttttttteeeee (or however you spell it)

if LSU wins

Offensive- Flynn, it'll have to be him because he'll have to both run/pass the ball to get his offense down the field with regularity.

Defensive- Steltz, and it'll be because he'll have to account for both Beanie Wells and account especially for robo deep.

MVP: Donald Washington. I think this game is going to hinge on the QB's, because neither team is good enough to win without a balanced attack...and I think Boeckman will make fewer mistakes.

Wanna vBet?

I'll take Checkwa for 100 Alex - and I really thought DW was going to have a huge game.
