Suns Chairman Jerry Colangelo said he thought it was a typo Friday when he saw the Suns' blowout loss to the Lakers on a television's ticker in Chicago.
But there was the proof in front of him Sunday, when his Ring of Honor ceremony began after a 38-point Suns first half in which Phoenix shot 37 percent.
The solution was another great halftime speech, as the Suns emerged looking more like a winning team, beating Cleveland 103-92, moving to 2-1 and keeping the Cavaliers winless in Phoenix since 1999
Funny stuff!Suns coach Mike D?Antoni admitted watching some of the Spurs championship ring ceremony Tuesday night before San Antonio?s season opener. What went through his mind?
?You mean after I got back from the bathroom after throwing up??D?Antoni said with a smile before giving the Spurs their just due as well-deserving of their throne.
?You?d like for it to be us, but it wasn?t. It?s not like it was more fuel for the fire. ?Trust me, we?ve got enough fuel.?

Rob Oller commentary: Suns' game is entertaining, but it won't earn them title role

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
CLEVELAND -- They are the Dream Team -- if your dream is watching a taller version of a Friday night rec league game.
The Phoenix Suns are definitely entertaining, in a dizzying Cloverleaf sort of way. Think Loyola Marymount of the 1980s. Except with millionaires.
If every NBA team played this way -- run, gun, repeat -- TV ratings and overall interest almost certainly would improve. The game itself, however, might ultimately suffer. Cotton candy tastes great at first, but eventually it proves unfulfilling. Sooner or later you need a steak to let you know you just consumed something of substance. You need protein, a team like San Antonio that sticks to your ribs.

I came up with a ficticious trade a couple months ago that I think would be great all-around. I would like to see the Suns ship Boris Diaw and a conditional 1st round pick to Miami for Shaq. Now he's injured, so that's kinda sour. But, it's a win win deal. Shaq, wouldn't have to be the star, he could play 25 minutes a game.... most importantly against San Antonio. He could re-heat the "rivalry" between he and Kobe also. I know he can't run with the Suns offense, but 20-25 mins a game would be fine, situational. If Miami would eat a good amount of his contract, then in return they get Boris Diaw..who has huge up side and is young... and a conditional 1 st rounder to help them in their re-building process.

I'd think you'd want a more mobile center. A guy like Pau Gasol makes a lot more sense to me....
