PG P.J. Hill (BK JEKABPILS- Latvia)

Groce said he went to the camp more to look for an addition to the 2008 recruiting class, but when he saw Hill's quickness and energy, and learned he was qualified to transfer immediately, it "afforded us an opportunity to get a guy we thought was a great fit for us.

That surprises me. When I originally saw that we added a new JUCO PG that no one had heard of, I figured Groce was told to go to this camp to try to find a point guard, because we (I thought) are in desperate need of one. I think its interesting that he wasn't even there with the intent of finding us a PG.

Outstanding news! Could it be that we don't miss a beat this season? Well, maybe not. You just cant replace a Greg Oden or a Mike Conley, but it sounds as if this team will be tenacious on defense and if we find the shooters to step up the sky seems to be the only limit. Definitely like what I hear on a daily basis coming from Matta's camp.

this might be the biggest surprise player on the team. He out played Butler and look like he wants to be the PG starting.

I've been trying to tell you guys...

I think that there is a real possiblity that Noopy isnt the starting PG next, but don't expect Hill to take Butler's job...

Fast as lighting ain't he...

Combo guard all the way...You will see him in the 2 postion most of the time he is on the floor...
he is a combo-guard that can play point in a pinch if the point is not satisfactory. there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever about that. walter, though, needs to make a bit more progress with his outside shot to be a combo-guard "all the way." walter is a more athletic version of butler but with a poorer outside shot. based on what i've seen so far and so very early, offutt would be my point next year. however, i see noopy or perhaps hill starting at the point at the beginning of the season. this is '07, though.

I agree with you take on Walter's game I just don't see him playing much PG...

He is more of a slasher, and while I do believe he can play the point, with Hill and Noopy I see him staying at the 2g and creating from there, and I also believe that his shot will improve dramatically...
