PG Amos "AJ" Harris (transfer to New Mexico State)

Awful. Now my second favorite guy is leaving.

Only a perspective from the outside and completly opinionated, but, to me it looks like one of those guys that are left or maybe both, Lyle and Loving, are disruptive to tam harmony. It also looks as if coach gives them a bit too much leeway and trust when it might not be warranted (see: every game thread this season). I really hope we don't have a cancerous player on the team that isnt being dealt with but the feeling coming from Value City is that there is a sickness and it needs serious treatment.

don't assume the guys staying are the problem.

This one is mind-boggling in that Harris got way more PT than I imagined he would at the beginning of the year. And mostly, I attribute that to poor play by others rather than his good play. On the plus side, IMO, he's fast and he hustles. On the negative side, IMO, he turns the ball over way too much for a point guard, he doesn't have a jumpshot, and he's very small. Maybe he can transfer to a MAC-level school and play a bigger role there.

I'm hoping he comes home to UD. Scoochie Smith is a senior and UD has one other PG currently on the roster, John Crosby. They are actively recruiting PGs for 2017-18. Crosby is a bigger PG but definitely won't have the position locked down.

Right. And his performance was pretty good for a freshman backup point guard at the high-major level.

I'd say, "But you know that," but I'm not sure you really do.

Just what exactly was "pretty good" about his performance? His 32% FG percentage? His 33% 3PT percentage? His 68% FT percentage? How about his 1.6 to 1 assist to turnover ratio?

It's pretty rich that you would suggest that people don't know certain things, I'm sure you knew zero of the above. Unfortunately for you, those stats all fly in the face of your off-the-cuff, uninformed whining about how everyone who isn't lamenting AJ's decision to walk out on the program as "indulging in sour grapes."

For a freshman point guard in a power conference, none of those is terrible except the overall FG percentage. I don't claim the kid is likely a star in waiting; just that he's IMO perfectly capable of serving as a good backup point guard at worst.

Which I didn't do. But of course, you didn't know that, because you read into my simple comment all kinds of stuff I neither said nor intended.

You obviously have a bug up your ass about something relative to Harris, so I hope you're able to extract it and not project onto others some sort of insult that they haven't offered up.

Actually, not. It's AJ's decision, of course, if OSU hasn't given him what he thinks he deserves. IMO, after having watched 30+ games this year and reviewing AJ's stats to confirm my initial impressions of his performance, that performance warranted him getting fewer minutes than he got, if anything, and certainly not more. Apologies to anyone (you included) if my analysis isn't so superficial as to be wowed by a random dunk and/or his speed. Perhaps Herbie and/or the average Sportcenter viewer would agree, but I do not. I'm not sure what you intended by your post when you chose to write that you weren't "going to indulge in sour grapes"; clearly it was a thinly-veiled shot at someone, and now you're backpedaling. Quite frankly, I don't care much. But you chose your words; if you regret them now, I recommend that you take a more deliberate approach in choosing them in the first place next time around. Peace.

Bullshit. I wasn't shooting at anyone specifically, and I'm not backpedaling now. Quit behaving like such a condescending little snot.

Oh, obviously you don't.
