I refuse to go to the movies with a buddy of mine because he is the type that will yell at the screen and ask people around him what just happened every 15 mins.

Not necessarily a pet peeve, but just one of those things that make you shake your head or go hmmmmm.....

Why do people push the elevator (up or down) button when it is already lit, the same with a floor number when it is already lit?

Just returning from a conference and saw this occur numerous times at the hotel...

They're the same ones that insist on pushing the button at the crosswalk when the person in front of them pushed it two seconds ago.

Oh this was a BIG one in Chicago...I can't count the number of times I had assholes beeping their horn, flipping me off, screaming out their window, and all kinds of other shit, all because I actually slowed down to 20 where the flashing signs were. Damned if those safe fuckrockets didn't slow waaay down and back waaay off every time I did so when there was a cop in the area, though. Yo, dicktards, if you are late for work, leave earlier. Morons.

I've never understood what's so difficult to understand about school zones... Luckily it isn't too hateful around here minus the occasional idiot.

On a slightly unrelated note, just around the block from my house, they took out a traffic light recently. The traffic light's primary purpose was to provide a cross walk from one of the Elementary Schools across one of the busier connecting roads in Huber. Ever since they've taken that light out, there have been countless people who have come to the intersection, freaked out, and come to a complete stop before realizing "oh there isn't a light there anymore" and then drive off.

It's especially entertaining right around 4:30 or 5, when the road is at it's busiest. I saw a car almost get run over at that intersection because they stopped at it thinking it was a 4-way stop now.

No one does that down here, and it is only 15mph. There are always at least 2 BSOs on Road Kings at each zone and being a dickhead like you describe gets you a $250 fine. They get a ton of people for speeding, which is 20 in a 15, as most out-of-towners find out the hard way. :lol:

They did that shit right around where I live just in the last 6 months :lol:

It isn't a school zone, it is an intersection where they had 2 lanes (1 each direction) that went over a RR track and then immediately on the one side there is a road that a lot of people turn left on (so a 3 way interchange right at a RR track, which is dicey in and of itself), so it backed up traffic all to fuck when it was busy. So they first out in a turn lane, so that people could just wait and turn left, and that worked out very well. Soooo...could the fucking geniuses at ODOT let it go then? Why, FUCK NO! We need to add a stoplight there! (it had been a stop sign, only from the one side, through traffic didn't stop). So they block off the intersection with construction for months to add this light. Then...they had no idea what to do with it :slappy: First they did a 3 way all flashing red, and no one had any idea what to do. Then, they said it was going to convert to a regular light, but with the RR tracks there, they couldn't. So then they just shut the light off and put it back the way it was, and now no one has any idea what is going on :slappy: All that time, money, manpower wasted to put in a light that now has absolutely no function purpose. Typical.

Ok I am halfway across the country and one of my guys at a major retail account had a presentation and demo of our work (helping them with a Point of Sale retrofit) with the President, CEO and other Sr. Exec. Well the team knocked it out of the park, and my project manager sent out an e-mail congratulating folks on a job well done. I received the e-mail and added my congrats to everyone as well including folks on the client's side.
So here is my beef. An asshat clear across the world in India sends out an email congratulating the team, but chides everyone because we didn't spell out our company and our culture as the reason for the good work. He further went on to say please don't include me on another e-mails until that is done.
What a clown!! There were client folks included in the original e-mail (which included well over 30 folks) and I thought it inappropriate to rah, rah our company when they also had skin in the game...
Way to throw cold water on a job well done and cc everyone involved including the client personal. Thank God I don't report to him as he is off shore.....ok rant over.....:smash:
