Veni. Vidi. Vici.
The Houston series was initially scheduled in May 2008. Yes, Houston was coming off a couple of decent seasons (10-4 in 2006, 8-5 in 2007), but in the larger-scale, they had only had 4 winning seasons in the last 11, and 5 in the last 17. Houston wasn't playing in BCS-level Bowls at that point (hadn't even won ANY Bowl game since 1980).

BTW, buckeyesin07, as I just noticed it was you who responded. That's how you do it: either say "I was wrong, my bad" or "support your point with a piece of factual information, and see where the debate goes."
Since 2010, Houston has had two 5-7 seasons, but has also had two 8-5 seasons and two 13-1 seasons. That's far from "mid-major dumpster diving." In short, "I was wrong, my bad," was the way you should've responded. I'd think Houston wouldn't be a team you'd choose to trash (pun intended), what with their whole pantsing of Penn State in the bowl game a few years back.
