This is Dunc-5's Dad posting. Here's a funny story. When I went to PSU, there were some ridiculous classes set up for varsity athletes. A fraternity alum told me about it. He gave me an example. Let's say everyone takes this standard Architectural class as an elective, 500 at a time in the Forum, say it is Arch 310. There was an obscure arch class offered, Arch 312, arch of ancient civilizations. It was available to all students, but only athletes knew to take it. The alum told me to trust him. So another fraternity brother and I signed up. There were maybe 50 students in the class, 48 varsity athletes and us. First day professor said there would be no tests or quizzes. 50% of grade was made up by attendance. He said you were allowed to miss 10 classes to get an A. An attendance sheet was passed around for you to check off your name every period. So, my friend and I took turns going to class checking off names, and we still almost hit 10. There were rows of football players, wrestling, track, basketball etc. My girlfriend came to class with me a couple times to check out the football players, including starting QB. The other 50% of your grade was a paper you turned in at the end of the marking period on some example of ancient architecture. It took me about two hours to complete. Lectures were for your knowledge. No notes were required but a few athletes in the front wrote down every word. Obviously easiest A I got at PSU.
