James Franklin is going to immediately change the recruiting landscape in Pennsylvania and throughout the East. I expect Penn State to return to prominence nationally, and quickly, under his leadership. He is both energetic and ruthless.

Good hire.

I know some will continue to harp on the Penn State program, but their Athletic Department is doing very well across the board and this is another smart hire. That and the fact that the students closer to my age that I know are so far and away better than the scum that gets dug up online- both aware and embarrassed by the past- and I'm personally ready to move on.

They shouldn't HAVE a football program to be hiring anyone right now. That's the point. And the same culture issues that allowed, aided and abetted the entire situation still exists around that shithole.

With OB at the helm, they knew that Urban would constantly out-recruit OB. The story is now different folks. These same fans, players, an of course Urban Meyer himself is shaking in his boots because he knows there is now someone that poses a big threat to him in the recruiting world. Franklin is a MONSTER recruiter and I truly believe he will immediately start dominating the ENTIRE northeast/mid-Atlantic region in recruiting! Also, we will be stealing way more recruits from Ohio than we used to and of course start getting more recruits from the south which is where Franklin coached at Vandy. I know O$U fans are finally starting to get VERY nervous that there will finally be a program that starts consistently competing with them in the Leaders Division! Bring it Bucknuts!!!

Maybe the students are moving on, but they're a small part of the equation. Penn State will be complete shit until the Paterno cult begins to die off in serious numbers. Since the scandal erupted, Penn State alumni have elected six trustees---every single one was a cultist endorsed by the main cult group Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship. Hell, the mongoloid who organized the rallies came in 6th out of 44 candidates. BWI is a much greater reflection of that fan and alumni base than you want to believe.

Fuck Ped State. The longer they stay in the gutter, the better humanity is.

Hopefully we can get Urban Meyer to overcome his fear long enough to emerge from his bunker in the WHAC and do what he can to keep a recruiting presence in Ohio seeing as the rest of the country now officially belongs to Penn State.

Luckily Franklin is still facing scholarship reductions so there will at least be a few blue chip recruits for the rest of the college football powers that used to be to fight over. There might even be one or two that can overcome the siren song of Happy Valley long enough to consider what percentage of their careers a 2 year Bowl ban represents.

Ahh, who am I bullshitting? We're doomed.
