If Franklin is able to dominate PA recruiting it will be a first ever at PSU. Paterno in his absolute prime could not lock it down. PA is not like OH where nearly every kid dreams of going to OSU. The state has pockets of PSU support but it will never be a situation where one program can dominate. It would take generations to change that dynamic. Franklin will need to get back to recruiting NJ, VA, DC, NY & MD just like the previous regime. And that can be a winning formula for them.

I should have clarified - Hate in the MEDIA, not here. I'm seeing a bunch of "James Franklin is the wrong hire," articles in the media right now.

I was going to pass it off as trollistic writers, but I didn't want to gloss over the fact that the Cult's influence is far reaching.

Combine this with the petition being circulated and the comments from Lubrano..... I honestly don't understand the supposed outrage over the "rape cover up" that they're linking to Franklin. Sure, it happened on his watch, but he immediately threw the offenders off the team, including one kid who attempted to cover it up. How exactly would the cult have liked him to handle this? Ya know what, nevermind...... I don't want to know the answer to that.......

It's just too bad Vandy didn't have any Olinemen like Lewan to intimidate the girl or anything...... Maybe Franklin should have left it up to a team vote, like Les did with his criminal.....

The cult doesn't know how to deal with stuff like this since JoePa would have swept it under the rug. The player would have had to clean the stadium after the game and graduate from a regional branch. The cult is probably just upset that it even saw the light of day. Their head coach needs to be more in control than Franklin was at Vandy.

I've recently allowed myself to entertain a tiny glimmer of hope for some (not all) of the Ped State community. Reading the links to B/W lately, there are those voices there that challenge the cult, respond rationally to absurd posts, and seem to have something I identify as a grasp on sanity.

They have my sympathy. It can't be fun to live surrounded by the howling from that pit.

Agreed on all accounts. You have to reach pretty far to try & pin blame on Franklin for the rapes that happened at Vandy.

On the other hand you do have his misogynistic "coaches wives" comment.
