Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Vanderbilt's 2013 non-league schedule now features Austin Peay, Massachusetts, UAB and Wake Forest. That should be enough for James Franklin to keep convincing everyone Vanderbilt is the next Stanford.

Looks like I am not the only one with a smidge of doubt.

Franklin is in a no-win situation there. Obrien did an outstanding job under those circumstances and that will make Franklin's job even harder. Also the sanctions will be easing so expectations will go through the roof!

Actually, the sanctions are just starting to hit in earnest. They get only 20 this year (better than 15 to be sure) and are adding that to an already reduced number. With a cap of 75 in 2014 it will be two more years before they are at full strength. What has carried PSU through to this point is largely the carryover from before the sanctions. Junior and Senior classes are always smaller than when they came in but are the backbone of any teams efforts. We have felt the impact of being at 82. Just imagine 75.

I fully expect that the NCAA we ease the sanctions again. Especially after they let that horse already out of the barn.

I've noticed you arguing with a lot of people in a lot of different places recently.

I guess BP being a cult is one of the options. Either that or you are just wrong on most things... Or you like taking a contrarian position to stir the pot.

I think the latter two are more likely, but I guess that would make me a member of the cult in your eyes.

Let's be fair... BP is a cult. But it's our cult and our gape (edit: grape... grape... Damn it! GRAPE) Kool Aid tastes better than theirs does.
