Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

I'd like to take the time to point out two things:

1) Ohio State won 5 straight conference championships after the rail "harkened the coming of a new era in Big Ten football" or whatever the hell that plaque said (incidentally, can anyone find a picture or transcript of that thing, I couldn't after a brief search).

2) "The Rail" win has been vacated.

"Greatest upsets of all-time"...that tOSU team hadn't even gelled at that point and it was on their home field. Pretty amateur hour for a school that likes to think of themselves as one of CFB's "blue bloods."
Indeed. Ohio State was ranked 6th and PSU 16th. Ohio State was 3-1 (loss to Tejas), left 3-2. The spread was OSU -2.5

Edit: On the other hand, OSU didn't lose again until 41-14

WHAT.... THE..... HELL....

I've heard of this "rail" thingy, but never had a clue (or cared enough to research it myself), but I never thought it would have come from that game.....
What a bunch of asshat losers. Who makes an effort to hang a memento from a win like this? It was a mild upset, I'll give them that, but to call it "...one of the greatest Penn State upsets of all time"? ? That's just stupid.

Are you including the same season as "the rail" incident? It should be 6 straight championships. But you may be vacating the 2010 championship - in that case, carry on!
Thank you. I'm not sure how I pumpkined that up. Maybe I didn't use my fingers to count the first time?

Go back a few posts and look at the shit teams they built their reputation against while they were independent and it makes a lot more sense.

And I bet if you searched through this thread enough (or maybe other threads), you'd find Penn State's conference records since joining the Big Ten. I want to say it's approximately 0.600. And that's before vacating all of those wins. For almost 20 years, they were slightly higher than mediocre. Beating 6th-ranked Ohio State in 2005 would probably go to the top of any fan's memory, if his team is 0.600 in conference play.

Edit: Their conference win percentage is 0.638. That's closer to #4 Wisconsin's 0.609 than it is to #2 Michigan's 0.681.

Edit 2: This doesn't count 2013 at all. Also, it doesn't include Nebraska's 12-4 conference record.
