Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Nothing new here. Same ol', same ol'

The bucks never get a sense of what it's like to get hit in the mouth by GOOD talent all season long, then have it happen to them for the first time in a bowl game. They simply don't know how to react, thus, their awful record in BCS games. I said it before - going undefeated in the B1G is like being valedictorian in summer school.

(I bolded the text)

Someone responded about a half hour ago, and the post STILL hasn't been deleted:

You do realize that tOSU has the most BCS Bowl wins?

Their hatred for the Big Ten used to be annoying, then it become pathetic and now it's highly amusing. I just love the fact that not only did they fail to dominate the conference like every single one of these cultist fucktards thought would be their god given destiny but their beloved Dear Lead JoePed was pretty much told to go fuck himself when he showed up expecting to pull all the same tired shit that he had as an independent.

The Lions shouldn't show up. Let's play Michigan twice. Or, better yet, agree to play Grambling this week as a sign of solidarity. Sponsored by a company specializing in mold remediation.

The media is right. OSU is just too good, even for the Broncos. Just ask Brent Musberger.
what fucking world do they live in where they think the media is kissing Ohio State's ass week in and week out? I realize it's standard as the underdog to play the no respect card, but jesus fuck....get a fucking clue.

We all need to remind ourselves that the only game that matters in the entire series (pre-Big Ten included) is 2004. Nothing else is relevant.

I guess I don't remember much about it. What happened in 2004? My memory reminds me that Ohio State's offense didn't do much - maybe 1 touchdown. Ginn (or was it Holmes?) got a punt return for a touchdown, and there was a defensive touchdown - probably a pick-6. I think Troy Smith went 3-and-out in his first series, and Ohio State punted with the score tied 0-0. The next time Troy Smith took a snap, the Buckeyes were up 14-0. Final score was something like 21-10, maybe?

I think it was Jenkins? And yeah, it seems a safe bet that there was a pick-6.

I gotta admit, that one's funny. And, to be honest, pretty much accurate. But that's hardly our fault.

PSU is essentially admitting here to being the short-bus destination of BCS football programs. Overly harsh, but not outrageously so.

I thought that was funny, too. If Ohio State goes undefeated in the Big Ten, they're making fun of the Big Ten, and Ohio State. What they fail to realize is that they are admitting to being one of the small speed bumps on Ohio State's track to the Big Ten championship.

It was Teddy on the PR and Tyler Everett on the INT. I was in the front row for that game. Both of our non-offensive TDs were run right at me.

Yep. I think it was just a bubble screen or slip screen that was thrown right to Everett as he went at the intended receiver. Walked it in from maybe the 15 yard line.

This is why you're not a rival, Penn State. I go to youtube for the nostalgia of it all, and a search of Ohio State Penn State 2004 yields nothing but Ohio State/Michigan 2004, Ohio State/Iowa 2004, and then random years NOT including 2004 against Penn State.

edit: start at 1:39 of one of my favorite youtube videos ever @jwinslow

and because I love me some Teddy

Re: Listening to Leyland talk about his giving up coaching,..Reply

Leyland's done this before. He might be back, or his health from smoking all these years may be catching up to him, etc., etc.

If Joe had left, or even taken another offer, how many more kids would have been hurt? How many other coaches would have passed along MM's account, let alone been in position to listen to him. He even partially corroborated MM's testimony and stood by him and encouraged him. Would saving Joe's reputation been worth it then? Just thinking of other possibilities.

Ummm...none? It's none, right? I feel like that's too easy an answer...
