Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Did I miss something? Did Penn State win the 1994 National Championship?
I thought that was Nebraska's year?

Glorious Dear Leader Pa Joe Il had nation's championship stolen from him many times.

  • In 1969, decadent President from Western Province stole nation's championship by awarding it to Longhorned team before all FACTS! were in.
  • In 1973, treacherous and corrupt media stole nation's championship from Glorious Dear Leader Pa Joe Il.
  • In 1994, jealous footballing coaches from Largest Ten Conference and their lapdogs in Chicago media stole nation's championship from Glorious Dear Leader Pa Joe Il.

This is why Glorious Dear Leader Pa Joe Il still brims in our hearts from oldest man on mountain who does not understand such things as electric mail to the youngest, smoothest boy in the valley.

Sometimes the internet can be, uh, well...pretty awful. Deadspin collected some notable quotes from around social media today.

Warning: Language.

I don't even know what to say.

A lot of unfathomable comments in that blog post. I'm not going to dignify any of those vile words by repeating them. Among them though, I saw this gem:

bored of trustees

Also, I'd hate to see what kind of comments they'd find on social media by Buckeye fans. There are a lot of horrible people out there.

Yeah really, the incorrect use of "your" multiple times is unforgivable :shake:

IMHO, that's not how I took that statement. I think that he figured that if the NCAA would be poking around, that they'd find more stuff that may warrant the death penalty. Not to mention, the NCAA wanted their pound of flesh, and he served up the school along with Joe Pa.

I think the guy is smart. They pay $60 millie (which they probably have in the bank) over 4 years, give some $$$ to charity, and fight through the scholarship sanctions and postseason bans.

Or we face the death penalty. No money for the time we're punished, and we'd STILL probably face harsh other sanctions along with it that would kill the school permanently.

I think the guy was between a rock, and a bronze statue.

Oh, I agree that he has a rather unpleasant job at this moment, but that's why he gets paid the money.

"We had our backs to the wall on this. We did what we thought was necessary to save the program."

To me, it sounds like someone on trial who is acknowledging the preponderance of evidence against him and pleading guilty to avoid the chair, even when he didn't commit the crime.

That attitude, in my IMO, continues to exemplify exactly what is wrong. There is no concession that the penalties, or any penalties at all, were deserved. There is no admission of guilt. There is no interest in right or wrong, fair or unfair. It's all about saving the program.

I'd have a lot more respect for him if he came out and said something along the lines of:

Out of respect to all of the victims [strike]or whatever you want to call them[/strike] we will humbly take whatever punishment is deemed to be fair and quietly move on, knowing that we must learn from this and come out the other side as a stronger and better university.

The funny thing also is this....

Everybody is talking about how the Freeh report isn't fact, blah blah blah. And they're whining about due process blah blah blah.

But who paid for the Freeh report?

The Pennsylvania State University Board of Trustees.

http://live.psu.edu/story/56476

The cult can stop whining about the report now. They all paid for it.

Are you reading the PSU boards? Because if you WERE, you would KNOW that the BOT hired Freeh on the suggestion of Corbett, in order to FRAME Paterno and deflect attention from the "real evildoers" ie., CORBETT AND THE BOT.

Yeah. Um, yeah.

Some of those comments about who is running the NCAA are totally out of line, and I wish that the people who posted that stuff could be tracked down and prosecuted for a hate crime. That is truly a disgusting display of human waste.
