Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Whomever is leaking the stuff from the NCAA and telling media outlets that Penn State may actually prefer the Death Penalty to what the NCAA is going to sanction is spinning this.

He/She is trying to make it look like the penalties are so much harsher than shutting down the program.

"Unbelievable," said a Penn State trustee informed of the NCAA statement, speaking to ESPN.com senior writer Don Van Natta Jr. "Unbelievable, unbelievable." The Penn State trustees' hope that the statue's removal might send a positive message was trumped by the NCAA, which had already decided. "Emmert has been given full reign by the pansy presidents [at other universities] to make his own decision," said the trustee, who spoke on condition of anonymity. "He has been given the authority to impose these unprecedented sanctions. It's horrible."
That's from the ESPN story. Someone please let Lubrano keep giving statements for the Ped State BOT :banger:

Well, now that the competitive advantage issue is out of the bag, the penalties can't just be proactive, but retroactive as well. I think the baseline here is going to be bowl ban for 3 years, loss of 30+ schollies, the right to transfer and gain immediate eligibility, and forfeiting of all bowl wins in the past decade, including the need to donate all bowl proceeds to charitable organizations. That's enough to give PedSU a lost decade.

Ray Gricar

Think this guy will show up now that there's no one left to send him a check?

From Wikipedia:

After the revelations about the Penn State sex abuse scandal in which it was revealed that Gricar had declined to prosecute Jerry Sandusky, well-known forensic pathologist Cyril Wecht said that "I believe that his disappearance is almost certainly related to this Penn State debacle."[23] He continued, "You've got his car being found, locked with cellphones inside. The computers found and the hard drive is found there in the river. The body is never found. Looks to me like it was staged."[

Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports thinks multiple-year bowl ban and scholarship losses.

But if I'm Charles Robinson, a decent investigative reporter, I'd park myself in State College, PA and keep searching this Penn State story. There is entirely too much smoke for people to just drop any and all investigations.

Prediction time...I am guessing a 5 year bowl ban, a loss of 10-20 scholarships a year for at least a 5 year period, giving back some bowl money and possibly vacating all bowl wins since 1998, and the allowance of any and all players that want to transfer to do so and choose whether to sit out and have eligibility remain or to play immediately, because of how close we are to fall ball. So kids could go to big programs and sit a year and compete to start the next year, or could go to a place like North Texas and start immediately. PSU may still and likely will still have to pay their scholarships, but I do think they will count against the 85 limit to prevent the flurry of recruiting that would take place for what would basically be free players, which would also screw up competitive balance amongst the rest of FBS.

Basically, I think they will do those things and whatever else they can to basically tuen PSU into a Sun Belt team for the forseeable future.

Fuck donation thats a write off for them. Make it so they cannot claim it as a write off. Also in addition to the forfeiture of the bowl wins, they also need to include the regular season wins from at least 2002
