None of the camps have started. I don't believe any school is in fall session as yet. These kids could easily move in the two weeks or so that are available.
IMO the quickest path to PSU returning to respect as an academic institution would be to jettison big time football completely. I had constructed a scenario where PSU had worked with the NCAA to come to just such a conclusion. The flaw is that I can't envision a decision making authority at PSU who is in a position or would be willing to make this decision. If the BOT were involved there would have been leaks and push back. It would be an incredibly ballsy move by Erickson.
They simply must hurry in this case if they are going to levy sanctions against Penn State. Just look at how many Penn Staters you read of begging for the the first games to arrive. Once football starts up so does the "healing process" (or the narrative of one at least) and the will to take action against the university starts to decrease. It's as if they are hoping they can just run out the clock on the public's anger. That can't be allowed to happen if it can be helped.
And if the NCAA oversteps its bounds in such a way that they end up going to court and getting demolished too, I'm OK with that as well.
