Careful what you wish for. Jim Tressel certainly wasn't at the top of the OSU job list, Stoops turned the job down and the rush to get in the interview line wasn't world class. Of course Cooper's DC wasn't doing kids in the WHAC showers either.

not going to happen

They could sign up you, me,Ted Williams (either the homeless one or the dead one) and he will become the earthquake/moonshot they have predicting all along.

The trick is to get them to give a pre decision list of who they consider a moonshot. Then when Apu from the Quickie Mart isn't on the list you can have some fun with them as he becomes the next HC.

ORD, you know... this reminds me of a time when I was driving by a shacky looking restaurant on the Chesapeake. So I stopped in and found out for $19.99 they had all you can eat Blue Crabs and peel and eat shrimp. Now, I see what you're saying... even at some point you can get tired of the same old ultra value and ultra fresh seafood and you kind of start feeling full and maybe it's time to move on to dessert, and maybe that dessert is waiting at home and it's just a split of d'Yquem or something that someone randomly gave you, and I know that you're really looking forward to it. But, man, right now, it's time to take a deep breath and realize that another round of Blue Crab and Shrimp would still be really good.

Yes, but it won't matter who they hire...big name or no name. You forget that Delaney's office, the Big Ten referees and the Big Ten Network are all involved in a 'speeracy of massive proportions to keep Ped State from assuming their rightful and pre-ordained position of Big Ten dominance on an annual basis.

This is really what Penn State should do. The job is too toxic for a big name coach. What they NEED to find is a Jim Tressel type, meaning a smaller college coach who has been successful in the area that can weather the next few years and maybe be a great coach. In 4-5 years, if he fails, then they can go out and try to hire a Home Run type coach... or they might have stumbled across the next Joe Pa.

But fuck what they should do... I need the high comedy of them trying to hire every big name they can think of and really think they should get him and then get shot down :biggrin:
