Early in the process, there was plenty of speculation that Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen was a candidate for the Penn State head coaching job.

We are now on Day #50 of the Penn State coaching search, and Mullen has not been contacted.


During a Wednesday morning radio interview with Bill King on Sirius / XM, Mullen deviated from his own policy of not talking about other jobs.

Mullen admitted, "I've never had any contact with anyone up there."

Amos Alonzo Stagg is available. He's got a few miles on him, but with all the talent that will be pouring into Happy Valley once he's named he could catch Bowden and Paterno's all time wins record in a couple of years. Poor guy spent all those years in 8-game-no-bowl seasons, otherwise he'd have the record already.

I've been know to take a shot or two at good old B1G fans in my time at BP. Some have been well received, some have been widely scorned and I've had rep dinged as a result.

However - I feel confident that concluding that these individuals are the most absurd and delisional people in all of college football. If I could, I would fly a mechanical blimp over Happy Valley and have the mechanized portion be a giant hand wank.

The notion that Coach Saban would leave just for the money is outrageous as Bama would pass the hat around and surpass it in a nano-second. His pipeline of recruits is far superior and the facilities are propbably equal if not superior at Bama.

I really don't have any idea where this arrogance comes from? I get Wisconsin fans being ultra annoying because they are going to Rose Bowls - PSU hasn't competed in a BCS game in years.
