Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

as much as i can't stand psu, and my disdain for them is greater than it is for ttun, i hope they never leave the conference. i want them to continue being relegated to the bottom of the conference's first tier, top of the second. if dantonio can continue his run at msu, if nebraska can gain ground on their historical reputation, and if wisconsin maintains, then psu will never consistently be more than an also-ran. if they bolt for the acc, then they'll continue pretending that they are fully self-regulated. moreover, despite their pathetic year-in and year-out conspiratorial rants, i want to continue relishing their whiny excuses. it's a pleasure to have a front row seat to their inferiority complex.
Agreed, it's far worse to have that ignorantly smug fanbase be relegated to worst of the first tier schools, as opposed to being the worst in the entire conference. It's laughable to hear Ped St fans make excuses for losing to OSU, scUM, MSU, Wisky, etc and then puff out their chests for beating Purdue, Maryland, Rutgers. Go get your shine box and go back to watching ESPN classics for any sort of relevance

Yep. They want out. Why give them what they want?
The reason they want out is because the Big 10 exposed them as the truly mediocre team they've always been; disguised by decades of trail blazing the Boise State model of national relevance (with a whole lot more cheating).

They want out so they can stop struggling to go .600 in conference play.

Fuck 'em. I hope they enjoy being middle of the pack forever.

Except that for me, it feels like staying in a miserable marriage just so you can spitefully enjoy watching your spouse suffer. Problem is, in order to do that you have to spend your life in that relationship. AND, everybody knows you're married. So, what the neighbors says about you is that you're with that horrible person--what's wrong with you that you tolerate them?

Guess I'd just prefer that my name wasn't Mrs. PedState.

We're not the wife we're more like the nextdoor neighbor that laughs as as the husband is waking up facedown drunk in the front yard again...

More than 200 lettermen petition PSU to return Joe Paterno statue

More than 200 Penn State football lettermen petitioned the university Tuesday for the return of an iconic bronze Joe Paterno statue, which was removed in the summer of 2012 in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case.

The former players and coaches, who span every decade since the 1950s, also made two other demands: return the wall that rested behind the statue and celebrated Penn State accomplishments, and issue a formal apology to Paterno's widow.

"Joe Paterno has been cast in a negative light," the letter writer, former tight end/punter Brian Masella, told ESPN, "and we're trying to correct that narrative. The university has ignored us over and over again."

would it not be more enjoyable to let them jump ship for greener pastures only to be relegated once again to a middle of the road team in a far worse conference competitively and significantly less pay out per school?

seriously, how much fun would it be to watch bwi go into super insane meltdown mode after joining the acc or big 12 only to get pummeled there as well for far less money?
