Round 2, day 2. Sore. but in a good way.

Since I am now unemployed I plan to take this time to re do P90X.
First round work issues caused missed workouts. Now that won't be an issue.

Also with avaiable time will add running (couch to 5k plan) and a few extra yoga workouts (not necessarily the P90X yoga)

Now its off to plyos.... This is one of my favorite of the P90X workouts.

I'm starting up my second week today.

There's a lot of stuff in the workouts that I just plain can't do. Some of it will come with time, as I'm just not strong enough or flexible enough or my gut gets in they way or whatever. Some of it, I don't know if I'll ever be able to do, particularly some of the stuff that requires lower body flexibility. Two years ago, when I was being examined by the doctor before my knee surgery he remarked on how my range of motion in my knees and hips are oriented differently than most people. There are some moves that I try to make where that seems to come into play - it's not that I'm not flexible enough to do it, it's that my body just doesn't move that way. It's weird, I know.

Anyway, I'm just trying to stay on top of it, take what I can from the workouts and try to increase my capability. I'm able to do more now that I was in the first week, and the workouts did become more "comfortable" (not easier) when I went through them a second time. I've experienced only minimal weight loss, but I feel better in general and my pants fit a little better in the waist than they did a couple weeks ago.

The next big challenge begins now. I was off work the last two weeks and had plenty of free time, so it wasn't a problem to get workouts in. I'm going to need to be disciplined to make sure I get workouts in first thing when I get home from work instead of getting on the PS3 or DVR or computer.

Ass kicking coming up

I'm really bored jogging on the treadmill every day so I borrowed this from a family member. Not sure I'm going to do the diet (time/money constraints) and I'm definitely not doing the supplements. I'll use common sense (portion control, no cinnamon twists in the morning) and hope for the best. Rubber bands and light dumbbells are all that I have but that'll be enough at this point. I just have to get in the right mindset to get up early in the morning :mad1: and give it my best - no sweat. :roll2: Here goes nothing.

As long as you aren't eating fast food and pure junk, you could keep your current eating habits. Chicken, pasta, steak, etc. You'll need those calories/energy. Just don't eat until the point where you feel stuffed

What I found was, eating smaller meals, but more of them each day. I had to stop p90 a few months back because I got sick and injured, but I'm starting it back up. I found this food strategy worked great for me. Although it's easy for me to lose/gain weight. I just need to find that happy place.

Right now I'm at 202lbs, some fat, but also solid. Need to lose the fat and get down to my usual 185-190 weight. Shouldn't take me long to get back down to that.

Borrowed the discs from my cousin and am in the process of getting at the equipment together. Once that happens i am starting the following Monday. The only issue is that her copy of Core Synergistics won't burn on my computer. it plays in the dvd player but won't recognize inthe comp. So I need to find a copy of that to burn. i have the plans for all 3 versions. Classic, Doubles, and Lean. Gonna start with Classic and kick my ass, then decide whether or not to do an additional version or go back through the classic. Want to do it 2-3 times a year and do lighter workouts or a month recovery time in between. That way I can stay focused better on keeping my act together and staying on a regiment. I have been doing a better job of eating better already. I still have the occasional let down there but I don't have a large appetite and drink alot of water. I am not fat per se, but more thick in a couple of areas and really want to get ripped like I was 10 years ago and keep it around. Wish me luck finding the correct equipment and if anyone here has a copy of the Core Synergistics I can burn and return, I would greatly appreciate it.

Core Synergistics isn't a big part of Classic, so I wouldn't worry about it. You'll only have that one come up in your rest weeks (4, 8, and 13).

Ok. What exercises are involved in it? Maybe I can do my best to do some substitute exercises on those days to make up for it.

There are only a couple (if I remember correctly) that are found elsewhere. If you wanted to substitute something else in during that week; then you could do the cardio, plyo, or just work on your own plank-type exercises. The key is tightening your entire core during the workout.

I tried to find some people doing the exercises on youtube... one showed a good amount of the exercises... but without knowing how horton wants you to do them it seems hard to follow.... I want a strong core so maybe ill ask a couple of people that I know that have it to borrow their copy for a day and burn it.

I'm on day 41 of p90x. I've been doing the workouts and even mixed in some running instead of cardioX for a little Double p90x. I've been doing the diet damn near perfect, save for Christmas. And I've been really disappointed in the results. I'm not in it to get ripped. I just want to get a little tighter in the cage. I was already in decent shape before I started and was hoping this would take me to the next level. But save for a little increased flexibility and shoulder strength, I'm not seeing it.

Id much rather go back to running and swimming every day and eating pizza with pepsi. But I don't want to be a quitter. I guess I'll suck it up for 48 more days and figure it out then.

If all you were doing before was running/swimming and you're not seeing strength gains, you need to eat more and lift heavier.

I did a ton of pushups after my running workouts, so I had that base. I'm really just looking to tone my core, but its still loose in the cage. I can't figure it out. It's really getting frustrating, mainly b/c I'm sacrificing my favorite foods. The workouts don't bother me. The diet does.
