OT Andy Miller (official thread)

Boone is a true sophomore this season, while Barton is a fourth year JR. It is true that Boone really blossomed this season, he still has things that he needs to work on. If you watch the 54 yarder that Beanie took to the house, Crable ran right around Boone into the backfield and could've had himself a nice TFL.

Boone is in the same boat as Gholston. If those two players become even more physically imposing and increase their levels of production, they would become 1st round picks at some point. I just don't see Boone being on the same level as Long, Baker and Thomas yet.

Tress said on his radio call-in show today that Andy has been moved to OT

I like the move. We have a junior and sophmore playing well at the position and we have a verbal from another this year. Give him the year to learn the position and bulk up so he can be a contributor at the position next year as a sophmore.

Because of o-line depth or because he isn't panning out as a TE?

He didn't give a reason...he did compliment Jim Lachey who recommended the switch awhile ago to Tress.

He also said that they were still planning on playing the 2nd oline unit together as a unit, like they did last year. Maybe this was an attempt to add another body to form that 2nd unit, considering all the injuries we have right now.

2nd complete unit (right now???)
Miller, Browning, Smith, Moses, Kerr or Dye- Slim pickings

You can bet that Jim Lachey recommended the move because he thinks he'd be a good tackle. He would know.

maybe, Lachey noticed that Miller has good enough foot movement to be in the BARTON type of O-liner. I always thought that Ballard would have been a great O-liner if he wanted to move but, after that one TD catch LAST SEASON he'S OK AT TE.
